Johnny Gray (drag Racing)
Johnny Gray (born 1953) is a retired NHRA drag racer and oil company executive. Since 2021, he has been a partner in Team DGR, an American professional stock car racing team that competes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series, for which his grandsons Tanner and Taylor Gray compete. Racing career Drag racing The elder Gray has been racing in various forms of motorsports for nearly half a century; he began drag racing in the early 1990s, climbing the ladder from the National Hot Rod Association's Competition Eliminator division to Pro Stock and later, the Funny Car category with Don Schumacher Racing. Gray retired in 2013 to support the Pro Stock efforts of his son, Shane, and grandson, Tanner. Tanner went on to win the NHRA Pro Stock title in 2018 before moving on to stock car racing. Artesia is a city in Eddy County, New Mexico, centered at the intersection of U.S. routes 82 and 285; the two highways serve as the city's Main Street and First Street, respectively. Shane Gray (born 3 September 1990) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer. He plays at and and previously played for the Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League. Tanner Shane Gray (born April 15, 1999) is an American professional racing driver who has competed in drag racing and stock car racing. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 15 Toyota Tundra for TRICON Garage. Gray is the youngest professional driver to win a national event in NHRA history, and the youngest driver to win an NHRA season championship. Taylor Gray (born March 25, 2005) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 17 Toyota Tundra for TRICON Garage. Racing career Early career Gray made his debut in a late model in March 2018 at age 12, driving for Lee Faulk Racing and Development at Hickory Motor Speedway in the Paramount Auto Group Limited Late Model Series. He had an impressive showing, finishing sixth in the race. Two months later, he returned to Hickory in the same series and won his first late model race after running in either first or second place for the entire race. The ARCA Menards Series is an American stock car series, the premier division of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA).
