Johnny Gray
John Lee Gray Jr. (born June 19, 1960) is a retired American world-class 800 meter runner from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s and the holder of the 600m world best. A four-time Olympian (1984-1996), in 1985 he set the United States records in track and field, US record of 1:42.60 at a meet in Koblenz. That time puts Gray as the nineteenth fastest performer of all time. He came seventh in the 1984 Summer Olympics, fifth in Athletics at the 1988 Summer Olympics - Men's 800 metres, 1988, and won the bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics, Barcelona Olympics of 1992. In 1993 Gray was one of the favourites to win a gold medal at the 1993 World Championships in Athletics, World Championships in Stuttgart as he had won the A-race at the prestigious meeting in Zurich. However, he failed to qualify for the final in Stuttgart. He also set the world 600 meter record in 1986 at 1:12.81. Johnny Gray (baseball)
John Leonard Gray (December 11, 1926 – May 21, 2014) was an American professional baseball pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Athletics / Kansas City Athletics, Cleveland Indians, and Philadelphia Phillies in all or part of four baseball seasons (1954–55; 1957–58). Listed at , , he batted and threw right handed. Gray, who was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, was a graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where he starred for the school's baseball team. He served for the United States Army in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations during World War II. Gray was originally signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1950. He spent four years in their minor league system, sporting a record of 44–39 and a 2.28 earned run average (ERA) in 745 pitching appearances before being traded to the Athletics in December 1953. Johnny Gray (born 1953) is a retired NHRA drag racer and oil company executive. Since 2021, he has been a partner in Tricon Garage, an American professional stock car racing team that competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, for which his grandson Tanner competes and fellow grandson Taylor formered completely for. Racing career Drag racing The elder Gray has been racing in various forms of motorsports for nearly half a century; he began drag racing in the early 1990s, climbing the ladder from the National Hot Rod Association's Competition Eliminator division to Pro Stock and later, the Funny Car category with Don Schumacher Racing. Johnnie Lee Gray (born December 18, 1953) is an American former professional football player who was a safety for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. He was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. Jonathan Douglas Gray (born 14 March 1994) is a Scotland international rugby union player. He plays at lock for Bordeaux in Top 14. Johnny Grey (born 1951) is a British interior designer, author and educator, known for his work in kitchen design. Early life and education Grey studied architecture at the Architectural Association from 1970 to 1976 (AA Dip Arch), with tutors Jeremy Dixon and Mike Gold. One of the first kitchens he designed was for the food writer Elizabeth David, his aunt. Career Early kitchen design Whilst studying architecture, Grey focused on craft aspects of historic buildings.
