Johnathan Davis (politician)
Johnathan Reginald Davis (born 1991) is an Australian former politician who served as a member for Brindabella in the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly, having been elected in 2020. He resigned from parliament in 2023 after being referred to police by the ACT Greens due to unsubstantiated allegations he had sexual relations with a teenager. As of June 2025, there is no publicly available evidence of any illegal activity by Davis, and subsequently no record of any charges laid against Davis. Prior to his election, Davis studied politics and policy at the University of Canberra, and worked as a real estate agent, auctioneer and entertainer. He first ran for office at the 2012 ACT election at the age of 20; he also ran in the 2016 ACT election and at the 2019 federal election for the seat of Bean. ''Newsweek'' is an American weekly news magazine based in New York City. Founded as a weekly print magazine in 1933, it was widely distributed during the 20th century and has had many notable editors-in-chief. It is currently co-owned by Dev Pragad, the president and chief executive officer (CEO), and Johnathan Davis, who sits on the board; each owns 50% of the company. In August 2010, revenue decline prompted the Washington Post Company to sell ''Newsweek'' to the audio pioneer Sidney Harman for one US dollar and an assumption of the magazine's liabilities.
