John Wu Shi-zhen
John Wu Shi-zhen (; January 19, 1921 – August 25, 2014) was a Chinese Roman Catholic archbishop. Born in China, Wu Shi-zhen was ordained a priest in 1949. John Baptist Wu Cheng-chung ( zh, t=胡振中, cy=Wu Cheng-chung; 26 March 1925 – 23 September 2002) was the fifth List of Roman Catholic bishops of Hong Kong, Roman Catholic bishop of Hong Kong and the first Cardinal (Catholic Church), cardinal from that diocese. He was a member of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, the Pontifical Council for Social Communications and the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. Biography A Hakka, Wu was born in the village of Ho Hau, Wu-hua (Province of Guangdong, Diocese of Kai-ying). Baptized in the village's parish church, he received his primary education there. He joined the diocesan minor seminary of Ka-ying for his secondary education in 1940 and was ordained in 1952. John Ching Hsiung Wu (also John C. H. Wu; traditional Chinese: 吳經熊; pinyin: ''Wu Jingxiong''; March 28, 1899 – February 6, 1986) was a Chinese intellectual, jurist, and writer. He wrote works mainly in Chinese and English on jurisprudence, philosophy of law, Chinese literature, philosophy and religion, and Christian spirituality. He translated Chinese classics into English and the Psalms and the New Testament into literary Chinese. His works have been translated into about fifteen languages. A convert to Catholicism, he served as ambassador of the Republic of China to the Holy See and taught at several universities. Wu Chih-yang (; born 8 February 1969), also known by his English name John Wu, is a Taiwanese lawyer and politician. He was the Magistrate of Taoyuan County from 2009 to 2014. Wu was the former Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) commissioner. Education After graduating from National Taiwan University with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) specializing in judicial administration, Wu pursued graduate studies in the United States at Harvard University. He earned another LL.M. degree in 1996 from Harvard Law School, where he was mentored by law professor William P. Alford.
