John Solecki
John Solecki was the head of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office in the Pakistani city of Quetta. Solecki had been working in Balochistan to help the Afghan refugees, the communities hosting them and the local people affected by floods and earthquakes. Kidnapping and aftermath On February 2, 2009, he was kidnapped by a Baloch terrorist group named Balochistan Liberation United Front (BLUF). His driver, Syed Hashim, was shot and later he died at a local hospital. Solecki was held as a hostage by BLUF for 61 days. While he was in their captivity, BLUF had repeatedly threatened to behead him. Following the abduction of Solecki, United Nation Resident Representative, Fikret Akcura, disclosed that Brahumdagh Bugti had connections with the abduction of UN official John Solecki in 2009. This is a list of known foreign hostages in Pakistan. Foreign nationals have often been abducted by various militant groups who are involved in the current War in North-West Pakistan and are linked to terrorism in Pakistan. Most of these kidnappings have taken place in unstable parts of northwestern Pakistan and the western province of Balochistan, that are plagued by an insurgency. ''Post-'' (stylized in all caps) is the third solo album by American singer-songwriter Jeff Rosenstock. It was released on January 1, 2018, without any promotional lead-up. The album was released on Polyvinyl Record Co. in the United States and by Specialist Subject Records in the United Kingdom. Much of ''Post-'' was written in the Catskill Mountains shortly after the 2016 presidential election. The resulting songs are "chiefly concerned with losing hope in your country, yourself, and those around you." Rose Solecki
Rose L. Solecki (born November 18, 1925) was an American archaeologist, who worked with her husband Ralph Solecki on excavations in Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, and Sudan. Early life Rose Muriel Lilien was born in New York City, the daughter of Israel Lilien and Anna Muchel Lilien. Her father was born in Poland. Her brothers Harry and Sidney were baseball card collectors before World War II. She earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Hunter College in 1945, and her master's and doctoral degrees from Columbia University. While she was a graduate student at Columbia, she participated in archaeological excavations in Arizona under the supervision of Emil W. Haury, and in Peru under the supervision of William Duncan Strong. She wrote ''A Study of Central Andean Ceramic Figurines'' (1981) based on her doctoral research.
