John Robins (comedian)
John Michael David Robins (born 4 May 1982)General Register Office; United Kingdom; Reference: ''Volume 22, Page 1473'' is an English stand-up comedy, stand-up comedian and Radio personality, radio presenter. Early life Robins was born and grew up in Thornbury, Gloucestershire, Thornbury and was educated at The Castle School and at St Anne's College, Oxford, where he read Medieval English, having reapplied to University of Oxford, Oxford after an initial unsuccessful application the previous year. After graduating from Oxford, Robins returned to Bristol, where in 2006, he shared a flat with fellow comedians Jon Richardson, Russell Howard and Mark Olver (comedian), Mark Olver. Career Robins began performing comedy in 2005, and reached the semi-finals of the ''So You Think You're Funny'' competition at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Thornbury is a market town and civil parish in the South Gloucestershire Unitary authorities of England, unitary authority area of England, about north of Bristol. ''Russell Howard's Good News'' is a British comedy and topical news television show which was broadcast on BBC Three between 2009 and 2014, and on BBC Two between 2014 and 2015. Hosted by comedian Russell Howard, it offered his commentary on the news of the week through mostly stand-up, along with sketches and humorous video clips, whilst also having guest appearances from people who have been featured in the media recently. Radio X is a British national commercial radio station focused on alternative music, primarily indie rock, and owned by Global. Elis James and John Robins is a weekly radio show and bi-weekly podcast presented by British comedians Elis James and John Robins. Formerly broadcast on commercial radio station Radio X, the show aired on BBC Radio 5 Live on Friday afternoons until the end of 2023. Matt Forde (born 6 November 1982) is an English comedian, impressionist, writer and presenter. Background Forde attended Becket School in West Bridgford, Nottingham. His mother is a former nun. He joined the Labour Party when he was 15 and became a member and associate of the party. Following the election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader, he gave up his membership. It was first broadcast on Channel 4 from 2005 to 2015, then More4 from 2016 to 2017, and finally E4 from 2017 to 2021. ''Deal or No Deal'' is a British game show. It was originally presented by Noel Edmonds from 31 October 2005 to 23 December 2016 on Channel 4, and then by Stephen Mulhern from 20 November 2023 on ITV1. Based on the Deal or No Deal, original Netherlands format of the game show, each episode sees a contestant choosing one of 22 boxes, each containing a cash amount. A contestant winning is determined by luck – cash amounts are randomly allocated to each of the boxes prior to the game, with contestants required to open a specific number of boxes per round of the game to eliminate the cash amounts their chosen box does not contain, in turn affecting how much is offered by the Banker.
