Sir John Christopher Blake Richmond (7 September 1909 – 6 July 1990) was a British diplomat and author specialising in Middle Eastern studies. Biography Richmond was born in England but spent much of his childhood in Palestine and Jordan. He returned to England in 1922 and was educated at Lancing College, followed by Hertford College, Oxford. Following the completion of his studies he returned to the Middle East and served with British military intelligence in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq during the Second World War. He entered the Diplomatic Service in 1947 and was British Ambassador to Kuwait between 1961–1963 and Sudan from 1965-1966. John Richmond (born 8 January 1960 in Manchester) is an English fashion designer who is based in Italy. Biography Richmond moved from Manchester to London, then eventually to Milan to pursue his dreams. He graduated in fashion design from Kingston University in 1982, and straight away designed his own collection under his own name, while collaborating with such brands as Armani, Joseph Tricot and Fiorucci. In 1984 he formed The Richmond-Cornejo label with Ravensbourne graduate Maria Cornejo. Since 1987, Richmond has worked under his own name producing three lines, the main line: John Richmond, second line: Richmond X, and the denim line: Richmond Denim. John Richmond (born 23 February 1943) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Richmond in the Victorian Football League The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football competition in Australia operated by the Australian Football League (AFL) as a second-tier, regional, semi-professional competition. John Richmond (1765–1846) was one of Robert Burns's closest friends and confidants. He was born in Sorn, East Ayrshire, Sorn parish at Montgarswood, Ayrshire, Scotland. His father, Henry Richmond, was a merchant in Mauchline and owned Montgarswood Farm that lies near Sorn, East Ayrshire, Sorn. This farm passed to James, John's brother, having once been farmed by William Fisher, Burns's ''Holy Willie''. J. Lee Richmond (May 5, 1857 – October 1, 1929) was an American pitcher in Major League Baseball. He played for the Boston Red Stockings, Worcester Worcesters, Providence Grays, and Cincinnati Red Stockings, and is best known for pitching the first perfect game in Major League history. After retiring from baseball, he became a teacher. Early life Richmond was born in Sheffield, Ohio, in 1857. He was the son and grandson of Baptist ministers and he had eight siblings, all of them older. He went to the college preparatory academy affiliated with Oberlin College.
