John Rader
John Lafayette Rader (born February 11, 1927) is an American Democratic politician, who served as the first Attorney General of Alaska. He was a member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 1959 to 1960 and 1963-1966 and the Senate from 1969 to 1979. He was the Senate president from 1977 to 1979. He was a candidate for the United States House of Representatives in 1968, losing the Democratic primary to Nick Begich. Nick Begich
Nicholas Joseph Begich Sr. (born April 6, 1932 – disappeared October 16, 1972; declared dead December 29, 1972) was an American politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Alaska. He is presumed to have died in the crash of a light aircraft in Alaska in 1972; his body was never found. He was a member of the Democratic Party. Howard Wallace Pollock
Howard Wallace Pollock (April 11, 1920 – January 9, 2011) was an American politician and Republican Representative from Alaska. Biography Pollock was born in Chicago to Olga (née Deblanc) and Oscar Tobias Pollock, and grew up in New Orleans. He went to high school in Perkinston, Mississippi and graduated from Perkinston Junior College. He enlisted as a seaman in the United States Navy in 1941 and retired with rank of lieutenant commander in 1946. During his service in World War II, he lost his right forearm to a grenade accident while training in the South Pacific in 1944. He studied law at Santa Clara University School of Law and at the University of Houston, and then did some post-graduate studies at MIT, from which he earned a M.S. in industrial management. He was a practicing attorney. Pollock served in the Alaska Territorial Legislature from 1953–1955. The Alaska Attorney General is the chief legal advisor to the government of the State of Alaska and to its governor. The Attorney General is appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Alaska Legislature.
