John Punter
John Punter (born 27 January 1949) is an English and Canadian former record producer and recording engineer. He has worked with many bands and musicians, such as Spoons, Japan, Procol Harum, Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, Re-Flex, Doctors of Madness, Sad Café and Slade. His career in music spanned over 30 years and many different genres. He is now retired from the entertainment business, and ran a small bar in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. On July 24, 2019, he became a citizen of Canada. A record producer or music producer is a music creating project's overall supervisor whose responsibilities can involve a range of creative and technical leadership roles. Typically the job involves hands-on oversight of recording sessions; ensuring artists deliver acceptable and quality performances, supervising the technical engineering of the recording, and coordinating the production team and process. The producer's involvement in a musical project can vary in depth and scope. Sometimes in popular genres the producer may create the recording's entire sound and structure. However, in classical music recording, for example, the producer serves as more of a liaison between the conductor and the engineering team. Let's Stick Together
''Let's Stick Together'' is a 1976 album by Bryan Ferry. His third solo release, it was his first following the disbanding of Roxy Music earlier in the year. Unlike Ferry's two previous solo releases, ''Let’s Stick Together'' was not a dedicated album project, instead predominately made up of singles, B-sides, and an EP. Three tracks were exclusive to the LP, all remakes of Roxy Music tracks: "Casanova", "2HB", and "Chance Meeting". It had a generally favourable critical reception, but only just made the UK Top 20. Production Five of the tracks on the album were remakes of Bryan Ferry songs previously recorded with Roxy Music. " Re-Make/Re-Model", " 2HB", " Chance Meeting" and " Sea Breezes" were from the band's self-titled debut album (1972), while "Casanova" was taken from '' Country Life'' (1974). The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome
''The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome'' is the eleventh studio album by the British Rock music, rock group Slade. It was released on 9 December 1983 and reached No. 49 in the UK charts. The album was produced largely by bassist Jim Lea (musician), Jim Lea. The two UK Top 10 singles released from the album, "My Oh My (Slade song), My Oh My" and "Run Runaway", were produced by John Punter. In 1984, the album was re-packaged and released as ''Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply'' by CBS Associated records in the United States and Canada. Both "Run Runaway" and "My Oh My" were US Top 40 hits that year, giving the band their long-awaited breakthrough there. ''A Step Further'' is the fourth album by the band Savoy Brown. It was released by Decca in the United Kingdom and by Parrot in the United States in the fall of 1969. It is the last of the band's albums on which their long-time pianist Bob Hall played. The album track "Made Up My Mind" had first appeared as the B-side of the U.S. single release on Parrot Records 45-40039 (released June 1969), fronted by "Train to Nowhere", from their album '' Blue Matter''. Savoy Brown
Savoy Brown (originally Savoy Brown Blues Band) were a British blues rock band formed in Battersea, southwest London, in 1965. Part of the late 1960s blues rock movement, Savoy Brown primarily achieved success in the United States, where they promoted their albums with non-stop concert tour, touring. Founder, guitarist and primary songwriter Kim Simmonds was the sole constant member of the band from its formation in 1965 until his death in 2022. They were one of the bands that UK Decca Records, Decca (US London/Parrot) stuck with through the lean times until they started selling records; it took four or five albums until they started to sell in the US. Pseudo Echo are an Australian New wave music, new wave band formed in 1982 by Brian Canham (vocals, guitar, and keyboards), Pierre Gigliotti (bass keyboards and bass guitar), and Tony Lugton (keyboards). Judie Tzuke
Judie Tzuke ( ; born Judie Myers, 3 April 1956) is an English singer-songwriter. She is best known for her 1979 hit "Stay with Me till Dawn", which reached number 16 on the UK singles chart. Life and career Early life Tzuke's family relocated from Poland to England in the 1920s, and changed their surname from Tzuke to Myers, like other Jewish families from Eastern Europe. Her mother, Jean Silverside, was a television actress, and her father, Sefton Myers, was a successful property developer who also managed artists and singers—most notably Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice during the writing of ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. Tzuke preferred the original family name, started using it at school and so, when Tzuke embarked on her singing career, she used it as her stage name.
