John Pettibone
John Pettibone is the former vocalist for the Seattle metalcore band Himsa. Before joining the band for the 2001 release of the ''Death Is Infinite'' EP, Pettibone was the lead vocalist for Undertow, a straight edge hardcore band which was also based in Seattle. He also sang for Nineironspitfire for a short time. Pettibone is currently the lead vocalist for The Vows. The band, made up of members from other local hardcore bands such as Champion, released an EP. ''The Vows'', in mid-2006 on Indecision Records, and the same release as a 7" on Dead and Gone Records, although not a lot has been heard of them since. In addition to his work with The Vows, Pettibone is also the vocalist in the sludge/crust influenced metal band Iamthethorn, who are signed to Goodfellow Records. Botch (band)
Botch was an American mathcore band formed in 1993 in Tacoma, Washington. The band, featuring Brian Cook (musician), Brian Cook, Dave Knudson (guitarist), Dave Knudson, Tim Latona and Dave Verellen, spent four years as a garage band and released several demos and EPs before signing to Hydra Head Records. Through the label, Botch released two studio albums: ''American Nervoso'' (1998) and ''We Are the Romans'' (1999). The group toured extensively and internationally in support of their albums with like-minded bands such as The Blood Brothers (band), The Blood Brothers, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Ink & Dagger and Jesuit (band), Jesuit. ''Axe to Fall'' is the seventh studio album by American metalcore band Converge, released on October 19, 2009, by Epitaph Records. Converge is an American metalcore band formed by vocalist and artist Jacob Bannon and guitarist and producer Kurt Ballou in Salem, Massachusetts in 1990. Straight edge (sometimes abbreviated as sXe or signified by XXX or simply X) is a subculture of hardcore punk whose adherents refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, and other recreational drugs in reaction to the punk subculture's excesses. Heiress is an American band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2006. Their style blends influences from hardcore punk, heavy metal and post-rock. They signed to Deathwish Inc. in 2010, and released their debut album ''Early Frost'' in 2013. History Heiress was founded in Seattle, Washington in 2006 by guitarist Wes Reed. Reed originally planned being the only member of Heiress with different people contributing vocals. However, Reed recruited Adam Paysse, the co-founder of Rome Plow Records, who both found drummer Julian Zurdo and bassist Eric Severson, and recorded a demo with producer Ben Verellen ( Harkonen, Helms Alee). Himsa was an American metalcore band from Seattle, Washington. Formed in 1998, their band name is from the Sanskrit word himsa, which means "harm" or "violence". The group released four full-length studio albums, two EPs and one DVD before their disbandment in 2008. History The band formed in 1998 and released an independent EP and full-length album in 1999 on Revelation Records.
