John Miller (American Artist)
John Miller (born 1954) is an artist, writer, and musician based in New York and Berlin. He received a B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1977. He attended the Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program in 1978 and received an M.F.A. from California Institute of the Arts in 1979. Miller worked as a gallery attendant at Dia:Chelsea. He is currently Professor of Professional Practice in Art History at Barnard College Exhibitions Miller has had several solo museum exhibitions, most recently in 2024 in Kunsthaus Glarus, The Ruin of Exchange' presents a selection of John Miller’s artwork ranging from 1994 to the present. In 2016 a mid career survey "I Stand, I Fall" at the Institute of Contemporary Art / ICA, Miami curated by Alex Gartenfeld. Gwangju (; ), formerly romanized as Kwangju, is South Korea's sixth-largest metropolis. It is a designated metropolitan city under the direct control of the central government's Home Minister. Beatrix Ruf (born 1960, Singen, Germany) is a German art curator and art advisor who held the position of director of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam between November 2014 and October 2017. Formerly she was director of the Kunsthalle Zurich. Michael Kelley (October 27, 1954 – January 31, 2012) was an American artist whose work involved found objects, textile banners, drawings, assemblage, collage, performance, photography, sound and video. He also worked on curatorial projects; collaborated with many other artists and musicians; and left a formidable body of critical and creative writing. He often worked collaboratively and had produced projects with artists Paul McCarthy, Tony Oursler, and John Miller.
