John McPhail (director)
John McPhail is a Scottish film director and screenwriter. Life and career McPhail studied Cinematography at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. During his time there he met and formed a close working relationship with Tyler Collins (actor), Tyler Collins and Andrew Lanni. After graduating from the Conservatoire he worked on the BBC television series ''Waterloo Road (TV series), Waterloo Road'' and was assistant camera operator on the film ''Up There'' by Zam Salim. In 2013 he formed his own production company Worrying Drake Productions and produced a trilogy of short films with Collins and Lanni to produce a trilogy of short comedy films; ''Notes (2013 film), Notes'' was a romantic comedy about a pair of roommates whose relationship develops through a series of post it notes. ''V for Visa'' and ''Doug & Steve's Big Holy Adventure'' completed the comedy trilogy. Royal Conservatoire Of Scotland
The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (), formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama () is a conservatoire of dance, drama, music, production, and film in Glasgow, Scotland. It is a member of the Federation of Drama Schools. Founded in 1847, it has become the busiest performing arts venue in Scotland with over 500 public performances each year. The current principal is American pianist and composer Jeffrey Sharkey. The patron is King Charles III. Ryan McHenry
Ryan McHenry (13 December 1987 – 2 May 2015) was a Scottish film director best known for the film ''Zombie Musical'' in which he received a nomination for the Best Director accolade at the 2011 British Academy Scotland New Talent Awards. ''Zombie Musical'' would be adapted by McHenry and Alan McDonald into the 2017 feature film ''Anna and the Apocalypse'', which would ultimately be released after McHenry's death. Life and career Ryan McHenry was born in Dumfries in Scotland. In 2011 he wrote and directed the film ''Zombie Musical''. The film, which was a joint adventure between Haphazard Media and Black Camel Pictures tells the story of Anna who starts at a new school in a small Scottish town. The Scottish Short Film Festival was an independent film festival which has taken place annually in Scotland from 2012 to 2022. From 2012 to 2017, the festival was known as The Raptor Filmz Short Scottish Film Festival until the event was rebranded in 2018. History and format The festival was set up in 2012 by Scottish filmmaker Chris Young who is the company director of Raptor Filmz Ltd in West Lothian. The aim of the festival is to promote short Scottish films with a view of potentially setting up a distribution deal with filmmakers. The first festival took place in Glasgow at the Ashton Lane, Grosvenor Cinema and was hosted by Scottish actor Dave Anderson (actor), David Anderson. ''Broken Record'' is a short comedy film following a pair of removal men in East Kilbride who stumble upon an old trunk in a locked cupboard. The film was produced by Pentagram Productions UK and marked the directorial debut for Andy S. McEwan. Plot Set in East Kilbride in 1992, Broken Record tells the tale of Frasier & Tam who whilst working for a removal company stumble upon a trunk in a locked cupboard of an empty flat. The pair prise open the trunk to find it full to the brim of old gramophone records leading them to believe they have just stumbled upon a secret fortune.
