John McCarthy (Australian Rules Footballer, Born 1989)
John Shane McCarthy (19 November 1989 – 9 September 2012) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Playing career Drafted by Collingwood with the 31st selection in the 2007 National Draft, McCarthy was a midfielder. He made his debut late in the 2008 AFL season and held his position for the last six matches of the year, including two finals. He struggled to maintain his place in the Collingwood side in 2009 and 2010, playing only two games in each season due to poor form and injuries. In each year, however, he returned to the senior side at the end of the year, playing in the qualifying final in 2009 and being named as an emergency for the 2010 AFL Grand Final. He played eight games in 2011; however, he was not selected during the finals, being delisted by Collingwood at the end of the 2011 season. Flamingo Las Vegas (formerly the Flamingo Hilton) is a casino hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment. The Flamingo includes a casino and a 28-story hotel with 3,460 rooms. The resort was originally proposed by Billy Wilkerson, founder of ''The Hollywood Reporter'', who purchased the land in 1945. Early the following year, he partnered with a trio of mobsters to obtain financing. Among his partners was Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, who proceeded to take over the $1 million project, to Wilkerson's dismay. Bernie McCarthy
Bernard Francis McCarthy (21 August 1943 – 16 February 2019) was an Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). McCarthy was the eldest of three brothers from Yea who played in the VFL. The youngest, Shane, played at Geelong and the other, Gavan McCarthy, made two appearances for North Melbourne, one of them with Bernie in round five of the 1965 VFL season. A nephew, Matthew, was also a Geelong footballer and another, John, played at Collingwood and Port Adelaide. McCarthy played footy in four separate decades - the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.
