John Llewellyn (born 4 January 1954) is a British former auto racing driver. He competed regularly in the British Touring Car Championship and the Willhire 24 Hour endurance race. John Llewellyn (academic)
Sir Frederick John Llewellyn KCMG (29 April 1915 – 15 November 1988) was an English chemist and academic administrator who spent some of his career in New Zealand. Biography Llewellyn was born in 1915. His father was Ernest Barrett Llewellyn. He received his education at Dursley Grammar School. He attended the University of Birmingham, from where he graduated with a BSc (1st class honours). At the same university, he received a PhD and a DSc. He lectured at Birkbeck College in London in chemistry from 1939 to 1945. From 1941 to 1946, he researched explosives for the Ministry of Supply. He was a research fellow for Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) from 1946 to 1947. In 1947, he moved to the University of Auckland to take the Chair in Chemistry and stayed there until 1955. John Anthony Llewellyn (22 April 1933 – 2 July 2013), was a Welsh-born American scientist and a former NASA astronaut candidate. Biography Llewellyn was born 22 April 1933, in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom, and graduated from Cardiff High School in 1949. He received his BSc degree from University College, Cardiff in 1955 and went on to achieve his PhD degree in chemistry in 1958. He married Valerie Mya Davies-Jones, and they had three children. Post-education After the award of his doctorate, Llewellyn moved to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and served as a post-doctoral fellow at the National Research Council. Sir John Dillwyn-Llewellyn, 1st Baronet
Sir John Talbot Dillwyn-Llewelyn, 1st Baronet (26 May 1836 – 6 July 1927) was a British Conservative Member of Parliament who was notable for his links to Welsh sports. Background and education Llewelyn was the son of photographer and scientist John Dillwyn Llewelyn and Emma Thomasina Talbot, youngest daughter of Thomas Mansel Talbot and Lady Mary (née Fox Strangways) of Penrice, south Wales and a cousin of William Henry Fox Talbot. He was educated at Eton and later Christ Church, Oxford. Political career Llewelyn was High Sheriff of Glamorgan in 1878 and Mayor of Swansea in 1891. In March 1888, Llewelyn contested the Gower by-election as a Conservative candidate. The Liberal ranks had been affected by divisions over the choice of candidate and Llewelyn ran a strong campaign. John Seys-Llewellyn
John Desmond Seys-Llewellyn (3 May 1912 – 4 April 2003) was a Welsh barrister who took part in the prosecution of the Nuremberg Trials. He was also a Liberal Party politician and later became a county court judge. Life Seys-Llewellyn was born in Cardiff on 3 May 1912 and educated at Cardiff High School. He then studied French and German at the University of Oxford, matriculating as a member of Jesus College, Oxford, in 1931 and obtaining a degree in French and German. Before the Second World War started, he taught modern languages in schools. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Armoured Corps on 22 November 1941. He served in the Royal Tank Regiment, but did not see active service in Europe. He then volunteered to serve in the Far East, and spent two years in India. John Jestyn Llewellin, 1st Baron Llewellin (6 February 1893 – 24 January 1957) was a British army officer, Conservative Party politician and minister in Winston Churchill's war government. Background Llewellin was the son of William Llewellin, of Upton House, Dorset, and Frances Mary, daughter of L. D. Wigan. He was educated at Eton. Military career Llewellin was commissioned into the Royal Garrison Artillery in 1914 and reached the rank of Major during the First World War, winning the Military Cross in 1917.
