John Lister (golfer)
John Malcolm Lister (born 9 March 1947) is a professional golfer from New Zealand. Golf career Lister was one of the leading players on the Australia and New Zealand circuits during the 1970s. Between 1972 and 1977, he was the leading player on the New Zealand Tour winning ten of twenty-five events. He won the Garden City Classic four consecutive times (1972–1975). His four consecutive wins in a professional tour event is a record that he shares with Tiger Woods, who won the Bay Hill Invitational from 2000–2003. Lister also enjoyed success around the world. In 1970, he won twice on the British PGA circuit and finished the season in fourth place on the Order of Merit. At the end of the year he qualified for the PGA Tour. Temuka
Temuka is a town on New Zealand's Canterbury Plains, 15 kilometres north of Timaru and 142 km south of Christchurch. It is located at the centre of a rich sheep and dairy farming region, for which it is a service town. It lies on the north bank of the Temuka River, just above its confluence with the Opihi River. Temuka is the second largest town in South Canterbury after Timaru. Temuka is home to three schools, two primary schools and one secondary school. David Good (golfer)
David James Good (born 18 December 1947) is a retired professional golfer from Australia. He had some success in the 1970s but is most noted for his record as a senior player. From 2000 he played regularly on the European Senior Tour, where he won twice and had nearly 50 top-10 finishes. Professional career Good turned professional after the 1969 Australian Amateur at Royal Adelaide. He was the medalist after rounds of 71 and 70 but lost in the quarter-finals. Good travelled to Europe in 1973. He had limited success but qualified for the Open Championship at Troon and finished tied for 18th place. Later in the year, he came close to his first important win in the 1973 Garden City Classic in Christchurch, New Zealand. Brian Jones (golfer)
Brian Jones (born 12 September 1951) is an Australian professional golfer. Golf career Jones was born in Sydney. He turned professional in 1971. He played on the throughout Asia and Australasia including on the Japan Golf Tour. He won the Indian Open two times, five times in Australasia, and twelve times in Japan. He won 11 events on the Japan Golf Tour between 1977 and 1993. Jones played in multiple Open Championships; his best performance coming at the 1981 Open Championship, where he finished in a tie for 8th place. John Downie (golfer)
John Dennis Downie (19 July 1925 – 19 February 2013) was a Scottish footballer. He was born in Lanark,1925 Births in the District of Lanark in the County of Lanark page 35 no 104 and played as an inside forward. Downie played football as a member of the Lanark Air Training Corps, but joined Bradford Park Avenue as an amateur in August 1942. After spending time working in a colliery in Bradford, he turned professional in December 1944, and made his debut when football restarted after the Second World War. After 33 goals in 86 league appearances for Bradford Park Avenue, he joined Manchester United in March 1949 for a club record £18,000 as a replacement for the departing Johnny Morris. Sir Robert James Charles (born 14 March 1936) is a New Zealand professional golfer. His achievements over five decades rank him among the most successful left-handed golfers of all time, being the first lefty to win a major championship, winning more than 70 titles and beating his age twice during a tournament as a 71-year-old. Vaughan Somers (born 27 May 1951) is an Australian professional golfer. Somers was born in Queensland, Australia. Somers had modest success as a professional golfer, winning the 1975 North Coast Open and the 1985 Ford Dealers South Australian Open. Bill Brask
William Jennings Brask Jr. (born December 12, 1946) is an American professional golfer. Although he did not have much success on the PGA Tour he won a number of minor international tournaments. Due to this success overseas – where they used a smaller golf ball – he was referred to as "the king of the small ball" by Lee Trevino. Early life Brask grew up in San Diego, California. He attended the University of Minnesota for college and played on the golf team. He was an All-American in 1967 and 1968. He won the Big Ten Championship in 1968 and finished third in the 1968 NCAA Championships. Professional career Brask successfully got through PGA Tour Qualifying School and played full-time on tour in 1970. Stewart Ginn (born 2 June 1949) is an Australian professional golfer. Early life Ginn was born in Melbourne. He grew up behind the twelfth green of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
