John Krogh
John Olav Krogh (12 September 1938 – 18 January 2019) was a Norwegian footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. Born in Trondheim, he played for SK Freidig (1957–60) and Rosenborg BK (1961–63). He earned 11 caps for Norway national football team, Norway, scoring four goals. He made his debut for them on 21 June 1962 in a 0–2 loss to neighbours Sweden national football team, Sweden at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, in the first leg of the preliminary round of 1964 European Nations' Cup qualifying, qualification for the 1964 European Nations' Cup. In his next game on 3 July, he scored his first international goal, the third of a 5–0 friendly win over Malta national football team, Malta in his hometown. On 4 November, in the second leg at the Malmö Stadion, he opened a 1–1 draw that sent the Swedes through 3–1 on aggregate. 1964 European Nations' Cup
The 1964 European Nations' Cup was the second edition of the UEFA European Championship. The final tournament was held in Spain. It was won by the hosts 2–1 over the defending champions, the Soviet Union. The tournament was a knockout competition; 29 teams entered (Greece withdrew after being drawn against Albania). The Soviet Union, Austria and Luxembourg received byes to the round of 16. The teams played home-and-away matches until the semi-finals; the final four teams would move on to the final tournament, whose host was selected after the teams became known. Luxembourg proved to be the giant-killers of the qualifying rounds; they beat the Netherlands 3–2 on aggregate (1–1 and 2–1), and then drew with Denmark 3–3 and 2–2, before losing the replay 1–0. Malmö Stadion, often known simply as Stadion before the construction of the new Stadion between 2007 and 2009, is a multi-purpose stadium in Malmö, Sweden. As of 2015, it is the home of association football club IFK Malmö, presently of Division 2, and athletics club MAI. The stadium served as the home ground for Malmö FF, an association football team in Sweden's top flight, Allsvenskan, from its opening in 1958 until 2009, when the club moved to the newly constructed Stadion, built beside Malmö Stadion, in 2009. The 1964 European Nations' Cup qualifying tournament was a football competition that was played from June 1962 to April 1964 to determine the four UEFA member men's national teams which would participate in the 1964 European Nations' Cup final tournament. Qualified teams Format The qualification was a knockout tournament where the teams would play a two-legged tie on a home-and-away basis. If the aggregate scores were level at the end of the tie, a third leg was played at a neutral venue to decide the winners. It consisted of a preliminary round, a round of 16, and a quarter-final round. The four quarter-final winners would qualify for the tournament proper; one of those four countries would then be chosen to host it. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality.
