John II Ernuszt
John Ernuszt de Csáktornya, Jr. ( hu, csáktornyai Ernuszt János; 1465 – after 20 November 1528), also known as John Hampó, was a Hungarian baron, who served as Ban of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia between 1508 and 1510. Family He was born around 1465 Ernuszt family, into a Hungarian noble family of Jewish origin as the younger son of John I Ernuszt and a certain Catherine from an unidentified family. His elder brother was Sigismund Ernuszt, Sigismund, who was born around 1445 and Matthias Corvinus made him Bishop of Pécs in 1473. John II married three times during his lifetime. His first wife was Anna Pálóci, the only daughter of Emeric II Pálóci, Emeric Pálóci and Dorothy Rozgonyi. Anna died in 1494, when John II was around thirty years old. Following that (around 1500) he married Princess Margaret of Sagan (Żagań), daughter of Jan II the Mad and widow of Nicholas Bánffy de Alsólendva. Ban of Croatia ( hr, Hrvatski ban) was the title of local rulers or office holders and after 1102, viceroys of Croatia. From the earliest periods of the Croatian state, some provinces were ruled by bans as a ruler's representative (viceroy) and supreme military commander. In the 18th century, Croatian bans eventually became the chief government officials in Croatia. They were at the head of the Ban's Government, effectively the first prime ministers of Croatia. The institution of ban persisted until the first half of the 20th century, when it was officially superseded in function by that of a parliamentary prime minister. Vladislaus II, also known as Vladislav, Władysław or Wladislas ( hu, II. Ulászló; 1 March 1456 – 13 March 1516), was King of Bohemia from 1471 to 1516, and King of Hungary and Croatia from 1490 to 1516. As the eldest son of Casimir IV Jagiellon, he was expected to inherit Poland and Lithuania. George of Poděbrady, the Hussite ruler of Bohemia, offered to make Vladislaus his heir in 1468. George needed Casimir IV's support against the rebellious Catholic noblemen and their ally, Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary. The Diet of Bohemia elected Vladislaus king after George's death, but he could only rule Bohemia proper, because Matthias (whom the Catholic nobles had elected king) occupied Moravia, Silesia and both Lusatias. János Thurzó
János Thurzó ( hu, Thurzó János, german: Johann T(h)urzo, pl, Jan Turzo, sk, Ján T(h)urzo; 30 April 1437 in Levoča (Lewscen in 15th century) – 10 October 1508 in Nagybánya) was a Hungarian entrepreneur and mining engineer. From 1477 until his death he was an Alderman (a member of the city council) of Kraków, Poland, and became even its mayor for a while.
