John Henry Morgan
John Henry Morgan (born February 9, 1945) is the Karl Mannheim Professor of the History and Philosophy of Social Sciences at the Graduate Theological Foundation, where he also served as president until 2013. A prolific author, his academic work has explored the intersection of theology, philosophy, psychology and culture. Early life and education Morgan was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, on February 9, 1945, to B.A. Morgan Sr. and Kate Evelyn Morgan. He grew up in Texas but received his undergraduate education in New England. Morgan earned his bachelor's degree from Berkshire College in 1968, and his master's from Hartford Seminary in 1970. He was also awarded a Ph.D. from Hartford Seminary in 1972, a Doctor of Science degree from the London College of Applied Science in 1986 and a Doctor of Psychology degree from Foundation House, Oxford, in 2000. Quakers are people who belong to the Religious Society of Friends, a historically Protestant Christian set of denominations.
