John H. Traylor
John Henry Traylor (March 27, 1839 – March 19, 1925), politician, developer, was mayor of Dallas in 1898-1900. Biography John Henry Traylor was born March 27, 1839, in Traylorsville, Henry County, Virginia, to Robert Bailey Traylor and Secilea R. Mullins. His family moved to Georgia when he was a child. His father served in the Georgia legislature. John Traylor served in Co. B., 4th Georgia regiment during the Civil War being wounded a number of times. He moved to Jefferson, Texas, around 1867 where he became a merchant. He married Pauline Lockett, daughter of Royal Lockett and Martha Smith on December 1, 1869, in Jefferson, Marion County, Texas. They had eight children: Paul (died aged 2 years), Robert Hill, Gooch, Ruby, Paul H. (father-in-law of Eric Lansdown Trist), Harry, Leslie, and Royal Lockett. Eric Trist
Eric Lansdown Trist (11 September 1909 – 4 June 1993) was an English scientist and leading figure in the field of organizational development (OD). He was one of the founders of the Tavistock Institute for Social Research in London. Biography Trist was born in 1909 in Dover, Kent, England of a Cornish father, Frederick Trist, and a Scottish mother, Alexina Trist nee Middleton. He grew up in Dover experiencing dramatic air raids in the first world war. He went to Cambridge University - Pembroke College in 1928, where he read English Literature, graduating with first-class honours. Influenced heavily by his don I. A. Richards he became interested in Psychology, Gestalt psychology, and Psychoanalysis, and went on to read psychology under Frederic Bartlett. Greenwood Cemetery (Dallas)
Greenwood Cemetery is privately owned non-denominational cemetery located at 3020 Oak Grove Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1875 as the Trinity Cemetery, the first burial was a Mrs. Susan Bradford that March. It is one of the oldest cemeteries in the city of Dallas. It is part of a cemetery tour, and sits next to the Emanu-El Cemetery, the Calvary Cemetery, and the Freedman's Cemetery Memorial. History At the time of its founding, the cemetery was out of town and surrounded by farmland. By 1896, the cemetery had fallen into disrepair with one local noting: "The fence is down in twenty places, cattle roam all over the graves and wagons use the main street as a common thoroughfare." Aransas Pass ( ) is a city in Aransas, Nueces, and San Patricio Counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 7,941 at the 2020 Census. Geography Aransas Pass is located at (27.9019, –97.1395),F on the shore of Redfish Bay, a tidal water body between Corpus Christi Bay to the south and Aransas Bay to the north.
