John Gray Banks
John Gray Banks (June 30, 1888 – June 24, 1961) was a lawyer and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Pelly from 1948 to 1952 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Liberal. He was born in Durham, Ontario, the son of Richard H. Banks and Emily Gray, and was educated in Durham and at the University of Saskatchewan. In 1918, Banks married Edith Verna Allen. Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada, is a town in the Assiniboine River Valley, where the Whitesand River, Saskatchewan, Whitesand River joins the Assiniboine River. It is northeast of Yorkton. The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan () is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the lieutenant governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King of Canada. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through block voting. Pelly (Saskatchewan Electoral District)
Pelly is a former provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Located in east-central Saskatchewan, it was centred on the village of Pelly. The riding was created before the 2nd Saskatchewan general election in 1908, and dissolved before the 23rd Saskatchewan general election in 1995. This constituency elected the first woman to the Saskatchewan legislature: Sarah Ramsland. It is now part of the district of Canora-Pelly. Daniel Zederayko Daniels (November 8, 1908 – November 11, 1991) was an educator, merchant, farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Pelly from 1944 to 1948 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) member. Life He was born near Gorlitz, Saskatchewan, the son of Daniel Daniels and Axana Hanthar, both Ukrainian immigrants to Canada. Daniels was educated in Yorkton and Regina. In 1937, he married Kathleen Franko. Daniels also taught school in Saskatchewan for 8 years. He lived in Canora. Arnold Feusi
Arnold Joseph Feusi (March 31, 1912 – January 14, 1998) was an American-born educator, civil servant and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Pelly from 1952 to 1956 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) member. He was born in Superior, Wisconsin and moved with his parents to the Langenburg district of Saskatchewan at a young age. Feusi was educated in Langenburg and at the Saskatoon Normal School. He taught school in Langenburg and later Weyburn. In 1941, he married Sally Dilschneider. During World War II, Feusi served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was later employed with the provincial departments of Natural Resources and Tourism. Feusi also served on the local school board. He was defeated by Jim Barrie when he ran for reelection to the provincial assembly in 1956. Saskatchewan Liberal Party
The Saskatchewan Progress Party (SPP) is a liberal political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It was founded in 1905 as the Liberal Party of Saskatchewan, and retained that name until members voted to change it in 2023. Until 2009, the party was affiliated with the Liberal Party of Canada. The Liberals were a dominant force in Saskatchewan politics during the first half of the twentieth century, forming government for all but five years between 1905 and 1944. With the emergence of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) under Tommy Douglas' leadership, the Liberals spent the following two decades in Opposition before forming two more majority governments from 1964 to 1971.
