John Flannery (American Football)
John Joseph Flannery (born January 13, 1969) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive guard and center in the National Football League (NFL) for the Houston Oilers, Dallas Cowboys, and St. Louis Rams. He played college football for the Syracuse Orangemen. Early life Flannery attended Pottsville High School, where he played defensive tackle and center. As a senior, he was named defensive MVP of Pennsylvania's Big 33 and won the state heavyweight wrestling championship. He accepted a football scholarship from Syracuse University. As a redshirt freshman with the Orangemen, he became the starter at left guard for 10 games. As a sophomore, he was named the starting center, where he would remain the rest of his college career. In American football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is an Lineman (gridiron football), offensive line player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles. Like other offensive line positions, guards are used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. 1994 NFL Season
The 1994 NFL season was the 75th regular season of the National Football League (NFL). To honor the NFL's 75th season, a special anniversary logo was designed, and each player wore a patch on their jerseys with this logo throughout the season. Also, a selection committee of media and league personnel named a special NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, honoring the best NFL players from the first 75 seasons. The Phoenix Cardinals changed their name to Arizona Cardinals in an attempt to widen their appeal to the entire state of Arizona instead of just the Phoenix area. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of a pair of cruciate ligaments (the other being the posterior cruciate ligament) in the human knee. 1993 NFL Season
The 1993 NFL season was the 74th regular season of the National Football League (NFL). It was the only season in league history where all NFL teams were originally scheduled to play their 16-game schedule over a span of 18 weeks and did so (the league again played 16 games over 18 weeks in , but this was caused by the postponement of a week of games due to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks), where all of the Week 2 scheduled games were moved to an 18th week and the entire postseason was delayed by 7 days before starting).
