John Eugene
John Eugene (born 16 August 1970) is a former Saint Lucian cricketer who played for the Windward Islands cricket team, Windward Islands and several other teams in West Indian domestic cricket. He was a right-handed middle-order batsman. Gros Islet
Gros Islet (English: ''Large Island'') is a community near the northern tip of the island country of Saint Lucia, in the Gros Islet Quarter. Originally a quiet fishing village, it has become one of the more popular tourist destinations in the country. History Originally settled by the Island Caribs, Carib (and possibly Arawaks, Arawak), the area was first identified as Gros Islet in a France, French map from 1717. The community was a Roman Catholic parish, and the first priests who arrived on the island settled in the village in 1749. The 2000–01 Busta Cup was the 35th edition of what is now the Regional Four Day Competition, the domestic first-class cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). It was played from 4 January to 19 February 2001. Eight teams contested the competition, which was played as a Round-robin tournament, round-robin. The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national cricket team is a cricket team representing Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and is a member of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. Stanford 20/20
The Stanford 20/20 was a short-lived cricket tournament in the Caribbean island of Antigua. It was held first in July and August 2006 in the West Indies at the Stanford Cricket Ground, St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, and then again in the same place in 2008. It was a variety of the popular Twenty20 format, which had been first introduced in English cricket in 2003. The tournament was separate to the Stanford Super Series, which was held in late 2008. The tournament was privately devised and funded by wealthy American businessman Allen Stanford, who held Antiguan dual nationality. It has been alleged that Stanford's creation of the tournament was a method of laundering his income from the fraudulent business schemes for which he is now serving a lengthy penal sentence in the USA. 19 teams took part in the inaugural knock-out tournament and 20 teams took part in the second tournament (although 21 teams were originally scheduled to take part). 2004–05 Regional One-Day Competition
The 2004–05 Regional One-Day Competition was the 31st edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). The naming rights sponsor for the previous seven seasons, Red Stripe, did not renew their contract, and, in lieu of a replacement, the competition was unbranded for the first time in its history. For the first time since the 1995–96 season, the competition did not feature any invitational teams, with only the six regular teams of West Indian cricket competing (Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands). The round-robin stage was played in Guyana, with the semi-finals and final all played in Barbados.
