John Bertram (architect)
John Bertram (born July 28, 1966) is an American architect. He is best known for restoring homes designed by midcentury modernist architect Richard Neutra. Bertram graduated from the Yale School of Architecture in 1994, where he was the recipient of the American Institute of Architects Henry Adams Certificate for Excellence in the Scholarly Pursuit of Architecture, the AIA's Scholarship for Academic Excellence, and the Gertraud A. Wood Traveling Fellowship. After working in Chicago and Arizona, Bertram moved to Los Angeles in 1997 where he joined Marmol Radziner + Associates as Project Architect/Project Manager on the restoration and remodeling of Richard Neutra's 1955 Brown House. Richard Neutra
Richard Joseph Neutra ( ; April 8, 1892 – April 16, 1970) was an Austrian-American architect. Living and building for the majority of his career in Southern California, he came to be considered a prominent and important modernist architect. He mainly built suburban single-family detached homes for wealthy clients. His most notable works include the Kaufmann Desert House in Palm Springs, California. Biography Neutra was born in Leopoldstadt, the second district of Vienna, Austria Hungary, on April 8, 1892, into a wealthy Jewish family. His Jewish-Hungarian father Samuel Neutra (1844–1920) was a proprietor of a metal foundry, and his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Glaser Neutra (1851–1905) was a member of the IKG Wien. The Yale School of Architecture (YSOA) is one of the constituent professional schools of Yale University, and is generally considered to be one of the best architecture schools in the United States. Ann Magnuson (born January 4, 1956) is an American actress, performance artist, and nightclub performer. She was described by ''The New York Times'' in 1990 as "An endearing theatrical chameleon who has as many characters at her fingertips as Lily Tomlin does". A founding member of the 1980s band Bongwater, Magnuson starred in the ABC sitcom '' Anything but Love'' (1989–92).
