Tom Andersson (born 26 September 1984), known professionally as Waveshaper, is a Swedish electronic musician specialising in synthwave. Inspired by artists like Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Daft Punk, as well as 80s movie soundtracks, his music is retrofuturistic and is composed with a variety of hardware synthesizers, including the ARP 2600, Roland Jupiter-4, and Korg MS-20. Gunship (band)
Gunship is a British synthwave band formed in 2014 by Dan Haigh and Alex Westaway; they were later joined by drummer Alex Gingell. The group has released three studio albums under their own label Horsie in the Hedge. History After Westaway and Haigh's other musical act, Fightstar, went on hiatus in 2010, the pair decided to focus on other musical ventures, including forming Gunship, eventually joined by Gingell. Their debut release, self-titled ''Gunship'', was released in 2015 to positive reviews. Their follow up, ''Dark All Day'', was released on 5 October 2018. In 2019, Gunship appeared in the documentary film ''The Rise of the Synths,'' which explored the origins and growth of the Synthwave genre. Perturbator
James Kent (born 1993), known by his stage name Perturbator, is a French synthwave musician from Paris. His parents are British music critic Nick Kent, and French music journalist, Laurence Romance. Biography Kent has a background as a guitarist in several black metal bands. Since 2012, he has produced electronic music inspired by cyberpunk culture and from movies such as Akira (1988 film), ''Akira'', Ghost in the Shell (1995 film), ''Ghost in the Shell'', and The Running Man (1987 film), ''The Running Man''. He uses a variety of software synths in his productions, such as the emulators of old vintage synths like the OB-X or the CS-80. Franck Hueso, better known by his stage name Carpenter Brut, is a French darksynth artist from Poitiers, France. Daniel P. Abnett ( ; born 12 October 1965) is an English comic book writer and novelist. He has been a frequent collaborator with fellow writer Andy Lanning, and has worked on books for both Marvel Comics, and their UK imprint, Marvel UK, since the 1990s, and also ''2000 AD (comics), 2000 AD''. ''Gaunt's Ghosts'' is a series of military science fiction novels by Dan Abnett, set in the ''Warhammer 40,000'' universe. It was inspired by the ''Sharpe (novel series), Sharpe'' series of books written by Bernard Cornwell. Swans are an American experimental rock band formed in 1981 by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira. Jarboe Devereaux, (born January 30) known mononymously as Jarboe (), is an American singer and musician who came to prominence as a member of the New York City experimental rock band Swans in 1985.
