John Albano
John F. Albano (September 12, 1922 – May 23, 2005) was an American writer and WW2 veteran who worked in the comic book industry. He was recognized for his work with the Shazam Award for Best Writer (Humor Division) in 1971, and the Shazam Award for Best Individual Short Story (Dramatic) in 1972 for "The Demon Within", in ''House of Mystery'' #201 (with Jim Aparo). Albano's most famous co-creation is the western anti-hero Jonah Hex for DC Comics; he was the writer of books ranging from ''Adventure Comics'' to ''House of Mystery'' to Archie. Albano wrote stories for comic book novels and wrote for Archie Comics until about 2003. Plastic Man (Patrick "Eel" O'Brian) is a superhero featured in American comic books first appearing in ''Police Comics'' #1, originally published by Quality Comics and later acquired by DC Comics. Steve Skeates
Stephen Skeates (; January 29, 1943 – March 30, 2023) was an American comic book creator known for his work on such titles as ''Aquaman'', ''Hawk and Dove'', ''T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents'', and ''Plop!'' He also wrote under the pseudonyms Chester P. Hazel and Warren Savin. Early life Stephen Skeates was born in Rochester, New York, on January 29, 1943. He and his parents lived in the attic of his maternal grandmother's Fairport, New York, Fairport home until he was four and a half, at which time they and his baby brother moved into a two-story home that his father and uncle had built. His parents tended to describe him as "a dreamer" because he preferred to play alone rather than interact with other children. Michael Sekowsky (; November 19, 1923 – March 30, 1989) was an American comics artist known as the penciler for DC Comics' '' Justice League of America'' during most of the 1960s, and as the regular writer and artist on ''Wonder Woman'' during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Jonah Woodson Hex is a fictional antihero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga. Hex is a surly and cynical bounty hunter whose face is scarred on the right side. Despite his poor reputation and personality, Hex is bound by a personal code of honor to protect and avenge the innocent. Hex has been substantially adapted in other media, including animated television series and films.
