John Agro Special Teams Award
The John Agro Special Teams Award is presented to the CFL's Most Outstanding Special Teams player that is voted by his peers. The award is named in honour of John Agro, co-founder (in 1965) of the Canadian Football League Players' Association, with whom he also served as legal counsel. Canadian Football League Players' Association
The Canadian Football League Players' Association (CFLPA) represents Canadian football players in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The association was established in 1965, when local lawyer John Agro became concerned by the number of Hamilton Tiger-Cats players approaching him with legal questions about contracts, medical coverage and pensions. All CFLPA presidents have been active or retired CFL players. The first president was Gary Schreider, who had recently retired as a player for the Ottawa Rough Riders upon the union's founding. The current president (since 2020) is Solomon Elimimian. In June 2010, the CFLPA and the CFL announced the details of a new four-year collective bargaining agreement. Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a professional Canadian football team based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They are currently members of the East Division (CFL), East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Tiger-Cats play their home games at Tim Hortons Field, Hamilton Stadium. Swayze Waters (born May 18, 1987) is a former gridiron football placekicker and punter. He was most recently a member of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL) as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He played college football at UAB. He has also been a member of the Oakland Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Edmonton Eskimos, Carolina Panthers, and BC Lions. 2014 CFL Season
The 2014 CFL season was the 61st season of modern-day Canadian football. It was the 57th Canadian Football League season. Vancouver hosted the 102nd Grey Cup on November 30. Brandon DeSean Banks (born December 21, 1987) is an American former professional gridiron football, football wide receiver and return specialist. He was signed by the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL) as an undrafted free agent in 2010. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a professional Canadian football team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Justin Charles Medlock (born October 23, 1983) is an American former professional football player who was a placekicker in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the UCLA Bruins, earning consensus All-American honors in 2006. The Kansas City Chiefs selected him in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL draft. Roy Finch (born October 1, 1991) is a former professional American and Canadian football running back and return specialist. He was signed by the New England Patriots of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners. He has also been a member of the Ottawa Redblacks and Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
