Johanna Kou (born 31 July 1975) is a New Caledonian badminton player. In 2009, she won the women's singles event at the Tahiti International tournament. She competed in four Pacific Games with the acquired of six gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals. Badminton At The 2022 Pacific Mini Games
For the first time in the history of the Pacific Mini Games, the sport of badminton made its debut at the 2022 Pacific Mini Games in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. It was held at the Gilbert C. Tuanaimato
Tuanaimato is a geographical area near Apia, Samoa. It is the site of the one hundred acre Faleata Sporting Complex which houses, among other facilities, a 12,000 seater soccer stadium (home of Tuanaimato Breeze, a Samoan soccer team), a baseball stadium, hockey fields and an 'aquatic centre' (for swimming, diving, synchronised swimming and water polo). Andra Whiteside
Andra Whiteside (born 6 December 1989) is a Fijian squash and badminton player. She has represented Fiji in badminton at the 2006, 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2007, 2011, and 2019 Pacific Games. She also represented Fiji in squash at the 2015 Pacific Games. She plays as the third singles against Tahiti, helps the team to clinched the bronze medal. On 3 September 2014, Whiteside won the National Squash Championships as her first major squash appearance, defeating Sharon Wild three to nothing. Badminton At The 2007 Pacific Games
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports.
