Johan Ulfstjerna (1936 Film)
''Johan Ulfstjerna'' is a 1936 Swedish drama film directed as well as co-written by Gustaf Edgren and starring Gösta Ekman (senior), Gösta Ekman, Björn Berglund and Birgit Tengroth. It is based on the 1907 Tor Hedberg play ''Johan Ulfstjerna'', which had previously been made into a 1923 Johan Ulfstjerna (1923 film), silent film of the same title. It was shot at the Råsunda Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director Arne Åkermark. Synopsis The film takes place in Helsinki at the turn of the twentieth century when an resistance movement, underground resistance movement attempts to liberate Grand Duchy of Finland, Finland from the Russian Empire. Karl Erik "Bullen" Berglund (30 June 1887 – 27 April 1963) was a Swedish actor, director and writer. Berglund was one of Sweden's most popular male actors in Swedish films from the 1930s to the 1950s. He appeared in more than a hundred films. Hugo Björne (4 February 1886 – 14 February 1966) was a Swedish film and theater actor. Biography Ernst Hugo Alexis Björne was born in Varberg in Halland, Sweden. He made his stage debut in 1907 and belonged to the acting company of Hjalmar Selander until 1911 when he moved to the theater company of Einar Fröberg where he worked until 1914. Ernst Olof Eklund (6 August 1882 – 3 August 1971) was a Swedish film actor and theatre director. He appeared in 40 films between 1914 and 1962 and was also the director of six different theatres.
