Christian Schweigaard
Christian Homann Schweigaard (14 October 1838 – 24 March 1899) was a Norwegian politician of the Conservative Party. He served as the 3rd prime minister for two months in 1884, a period after the impeachment of his predecessor Christian August Selmer called Schweigaard's Ministerium. Schweigaard held a number of key positions, including Chairman of the Conservative Party from 1889–1891 and 1893–1896, as well as Parliamentary Leader from 1889–1891 and 1894–1895. He was Emil Stang's indispensable partner, leading the Conservative Party's policy and organizational development in the 1880s and 1890s. Background Schweigaard was born in Christiania (now Oslo, Norway). He was the son of Anton Martin Schweigaard and Caroline Magnine Homan. He took his final exams in 1855 and then studied law. Ole Bachke
Ole Andreas Bachke (6 May 1830 – 3 January 1890) was the Norwegian jurist and Government Minister. Biography Bachke was born at Røros in Sør-Trøndelag, Norway. He was the eldest son of the local sheriff Halvard Bachke (1800-1852) and his wife AnnaSofie Ditlevsen (1804-1878). He studied for a career in law and achieved his law degree in Christiania (Oslo) in 1852. He then studied abroad for several years. From 1856 he was a trial attorney in Christiania (now Oslo). In 1860 he became secretary for justice affairs at Christiania. In 1864 he was a judge and became a Chief Justice in 1878. He was president of a diocesan court, before entering the first cabinet of Prime Minister Frederik Stang in 1879. Christian Zetlitz Bretteville (17 November 1800 – 24 February 1871) was a Norwegian politician who served as Prime Minister 1858–1859 and in 1861 and who held several other cabinet positions between 1850 and 1871. Ole Andreas Furu
Ole Andreas Furu (26 December 1841 – 28 November 1925) was a Norwegian lawyer, civil servant and politician. Furu was born in Trondheim, Norway, the son of Andreas Olsen Furu (1813–1887) and Karen Olsdatter Lien. He grew up on a farm in Sunndal and earned his law degree in 1867. He was a member of the Parliament of Norway from 1880 to 1882 and from 1886 to 1888, representing the Conservative Party. He joined Stang's First Cabinet in 1890, first as member of the Council of State Division in Stockholm, later as Minister of the Interior. Christian Birch-Reichenwald (4 January 1814 – 8 July 1891) was a Norwegian jurist and politician who served as mayor of Oslo, Norway. He was born at Blaker in Akershus, Norway. He was the son of to Paul Hansen Birch and Anna Catharina Hoffmand Stenersen. He married Jacobine Ida Sophie Motzfeldt, daughter of Peter Motzfeldt and niece of his own mother. The couple had two children; Anna Ernesta (born 1839) and Peter (born 1843). He studied at the University of Christiania (now University of Oslo), completing his law degree in 1834. During his university studies, he had been chairman in the Norwegian Students' Society.
