Joey Uy
Luis "Joey" Chua Uy (born March 15, 1963) is a Filipino politician who is the representative-elect of Manila's sixth district. Before being elected to Congress, he had served as a member of the Manila City Council for the same district from 2022 and previously from 2004 to 2013. Early life and career Uy was born on March 15, 1963. He entered politics in 2004, when he was elected to the Manila City Council as a member for the sixth district, a seat he would hold until 2013, being re-elected in 2007 and in 2010 elections. He left the post in 2013 upon reaching the term limit. He would return to the local legislature in 2022 as part of a wider landslide victory of the Asenso ManileƱo, capped by the election of Honey Lacuna as mayor. In August 2024, Uy became one of the 16 members of the Asenso bloc in the 12th City Council to leave the party after 19 councilors convened on July 23 when the city government declared all work to be suspended in response to the impact of Ty ...

Typhoon Carina
Typhoon Gaemi, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Carina, was a powerful and destructive tropical cyclone which impacted East China, Taiwan, and the Philippines in late July 2024. Gaemi, which means ant in Korean, the third named storm and second typhoon of the 2024 Pacific typhoon season, annual typhoon season, formed as a tropical depression east of Palau on July 19.
