Joey Loperfido
Mario Joseph Loperfido (born May 11, 1999) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2024 with the Houston Astros. Career Amateur Loperfido attended Haddonfield Memorial High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey, and played college baseball at Duke University. In 2019, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Houston Astros The Houston Astros selected Loperfido in the seventh round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut in 2021 with the Single–A Fayetteville Woodpeckers and spent 2022 with Fayetteville and High–A Asheville Tourists. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). José Dariel Abreu Correa (born January 29, 1987) is a Cuban-born professional baseball first baseman for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB).
