Joel Griffiths
Joel Griffiths (born 21 August 1979) is an Australian professional football manager who currently serves as the manager of Newcastle Olympic FC for National Premier Leagues Northern NSW and retired professional football striker. Biography Club career He played for Sydney United, Parramatta Power and Newcastle United Jets in the now defunct National Soccer League. He also had a brief stint with Leeds United where he made two appearances. He joined the Newcastle Jets on 31 July 2006, for an undisclosed fee after a brief spell in England with Leeds United, having signed from Swiss club Neuchâtel Xamax on 17 January 2006. He only managed two substitute appearances for Leeds and Griffiths attributed the lack of first team football to the perceived animosity from ex-Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell who only provided "non stop criticism". Gary Rudy Peter van Egmond (, ; born 29 June 1965) is an Australian former soccer player and former head coach of Newcastle Jets in the A-League Men and Women. He is currently head coach of Hills United in the NSW NPL League One. Playing career Van Egmond began his playing career with APIA Leichhardt in 1982. The 2006–07 A-League was the 30th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the second season of the A-League since its establishment the previous season. Kevin Patrick Blackwell (born 21 December 1958) is an English professional football manager, executive and former player who is currently the technical director of Ekstraklasa club Lechia Gdańsk. Playing career Blackwell was born in Luton and began his football career as an apprentice at Cambridge United, with Ron Atkinson as his manager. After failing to make the grade at the Abbey Stadium, he moved into Non-League football, playing for Bedford Town while working as a bricklayer. He later played in the 1978 FA Vase final for Barton Rovers and for Middlesex Wanderers before being signed by Barnet.
