Joe Wicks (EastEnders)
Joe Wicks is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Paul Nicholls. He initially appears on screen between 25 March 1996 and 14 November 1997 and returns for a cameo appearance via a video call to his father, David Wicks (Michael French), twenty-seven years later on 10 October 2024. ''EastEnders'' was praised for the character's portrayal of schizophrenia. Creation and development ''EastEnders'' story editor, Ian Aldwinkle, decided to introduce a character with schizophrenia after working on the drama series ''Casualty'', which featured violent and dramatic incidents involving people with the illness, but only focussed on the medical side. Paul Nicholls (actor)
Gerard Paul Greenhalgh (born 12 April 1979), known professionally as Paul Nicholls, is an English actor. He is known for his roles as Joe Wicks (EastEnders), Joe Wicks in the BBC One, BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', DS Sam Casey in the ITV1, ITV drama ''Law & Order: UK'', and Steve Bell (Ackley Bridge), Steve Bell in the Channel 4 drama ''Ackley Bridge.'' Tiffany Butcher (also Dean and Butcher-Baker) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Maisie Smith. Tiffany is the daughter of established characters Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen), though originally she was believed to be Bianca's daughter with a man named Nathan Dean. Rethink Mental Illness is an English charity that seeks to improve the lives of people severely affected by mental illness. The organisation was founded in 1972 by John Pringle whose son was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Bobby Beale is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', who made his first appearance in episode 2557, originally broadcast on 24 July 2003. The character was originally played by Kevin Curran as an infant.
