Joe Stockdale
Joseph Stockdale (born 18 October 1999) is a British show jumper. Early life From Roade, Northamptonshire, his father Tim Stockdale was also a show jumper. His brother Mark Stockdale is a professional golfer. Stockdale attended Wellingborough School. Stockdale started riding in a pony club when he was four years-old. He took part in the mounted games team at the Horse of the Year Show in 2013. As a teenager, he played cricket for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club Second XI. Career Stockdale started competing professionally in 2018, and was named Young British Rider of the Year in 2022. He made his senior championship team debut at the 2021 European Championship. He won team bronze at the 2022 FEI World Championships in Herning, Denmark, alongside Ben Maher, Scott Brash and Harry Charles. Show jumping is a part of a group of English riding equestrian events that also includes dressage, eventing, hunters, and equitation. Harry Charles
Harry Charles (born 15 July 1999) is a British show jumping competitor. He represented Great Britain at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2021, competing in individual jumping and team jumping. Charles replaced Holly Smith in the individual competition. John Francis Whitaker (May 18, 1924 – August 18, 2019) was an American sportscaster who worked for both CBS and ABC. Whitaker was a decorated army veteran of World War II. He fought in the Normandy Campaign and was wounded by an artillery strike. Biography Early life and career Whitaker was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Northeast Catholic High School in 1941 and Saint Joseph's University in 1947, Whitaker began his broadcasting career at WPAM in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. In 1950, he moved to WCAU where he did local weather broadcasts as well as other local announcing duties. He continued to work for CBS' Philadelphia station while beginning to take assignments for the network. Scott Brash MBE (born 23 November 1985) is a Scottish showjumper. He began riding the horse Hello Sanctos in early 2012. They competed as part of the British Team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London winning a gold medal in the team jumping event. In 2015 he became the first rider to win show jumping's Rolex Grand Slam, all three of the sport's most prestigious events in a single year, earning the sport's biggest individual prize of 1m Euros (£735,000).
