Armagh Harps Gaelic Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in the city of Armagh, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It plays exclusively Gaelic football in the Senior competitions of Armagh GAA. Its home ground is Páirc na Mainistreach, also known as Abbey Park, in the north of Armagh city. The club has won the Armagh Senior Football Championship 21 times. History Founded in 1888, the Harps represented Armagh in the 1890 Ulster Final, beating Cookstown's Owen Roes, but losing to All-Ireland Champions Midleton of Cork in the All-Ireland Semi-Final. The Armagh county football team ( ) represents Armagh GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association, in the Gaelic sport of football. A form of football, it is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The 2024 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) was the 137th edition of the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament since its establishment in 1887. Thirty-one of the thirty-two Irish counties took part – Kilkenny county football team, Kilkenny did not compete, while London county football team, London and New York county football team, New York completed the lineup. The 2003 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final was the 116th final of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC), a Gaelic football tournament. Paul Conroy (Gaelic Footballer)
Paul Conroy (born 22 May 1989) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays at senior level for the Galway county team and works as a teacher. Conroy was captain of the All-Ireland winning Minor team in 2007 when they narrowly defeated Derry. Conroy made his Senior championship debut against Roscommon and finished the game with a tally of 0–6. Career Conroy won an Galway Intermediate Club Championship with St James' in 2010 and followed that up with a Connacht title. He played twice for Ireland against Australia in the 2013 International Rules Series. Conroy was named as Galway captain for the 2014 season. He is an Irish and business teacher at Coláiste Bhaile Chláir in Claregalway. His fellow teammate Damien Comer also teaches in the school. The Irish language has been an integral part of Conroy's life as his parents hail from the Connemara Gaeltacht.
