Joe Lyng
Joseph Lyng (born 10 April 1991) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a midfielder for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Inistioge, County Kilkenny, Lyng first played competitive hurling in his youth. He enjoyed Leinster success at colleges level with Good Counsel College. An All-Ireland medallist in the intermediate with Rower–Inistioge, Lyng has also won one Leinster medal and one championship medal. Lyng made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of eighteen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team. An All-Ireland runner-up in this grade, he was later an All-Ireland runner-up with the under-21 team and an All-Ireland runner-up with the intermediate team. Lyng joined the extended senior panel during the 2014 championship. His acting success include playing Lorcan Meehan, son of Carol Meehan in ''Fair City'' from 2002 to 2007. Inistioge
Inistioge (; ) is a small village in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Historically, its name has been spelt as Ennistioge, Ennisteage, and in other ways. The village is situated on the River Nore, southeast of Kilkenny. Situated along the River Nore, Inistioge is entered by crossing a 10 arch stone bridge. The village has a tree-lined square and a number of 18th and 19th century homes along the river. Inistioge and its village green have been used as a filming location for a number of films. Inistioge developed significantly during the 18th and 19th centuries as a part of the Tighe families' Woodstock Estate. All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling Intermediate All-Ireland Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). The 2009 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 78th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 12 April 2009 and ended on 6 September 2009. Kilkenny entered the championship as the defending champions. On 6 September 2009, Galway won the championship after a 2-15 to 2-11 defeat of Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final. This was their 8th championship title overall and their first title since 2005.
