Joseph Herman Lewis (January 17, 1895 – October, 1986), nicknamed "Sleepy", was an American Negro league catcher in the 1920s and 1930s. A native of Drakes Branch, Virginia, Lewis made his Negro leagues debut in 1920 with the Baltimore Black Sox. He spent many years playing for the Hilldale Club, and was part of their 1925 Colored World Series championship team. Joseph C. Lewis (born 5 February 1937) is a British businessman and investor who holds a number of assets mainly through his Tavistock Group investment portfolio. He was previously the majority owner of ENIC Group, which is also the majority owner of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, between 1991 until October 2022. Joe Lewis (Joseph S. Lewis III; born 1953 in New York City) is a post-conceptual non-media specific American artist, musician, writer and art educator. Lewis was co-founding director of Fashion Moda in New York, where he curated and mounted numerous exhibitions and performance events. He also early on has been associated with Colab and ABC No Rio and appeared in the 1983 seminal American hip hop film Wild Style. Lewis received his bachelor’s in 1975 from Hamilton College, and then his M.F.A. in 1989 from Maryland Institute. He served as a faculty member at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) from 1991 to 1995, and then as chair of the Department of Art at California State University, Northridge from 1995 to 2001. Joseph Peter Lewis (born 6 October 1987) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Lewis began his career with Norwich City but did not make a competitive appearance for them, serving loans with Stockport County and Morecambe. In early 2008 he moved to Peterborough United, and was the regular goalkeeper during four seasons in which the club were promoted twice, relegated then promoted again. He lost his place in the team, and in 2012 moved to Cardiff City where he had a backup role and went out on loan to Blackpool and Fulham. In 2016 he moved to Scotland with Aberdeen, being installed as first choice and playing in three cup finals in his first three seasons; he was named captain in 2019.
