Joe Haider
Joe Haider (January 3, 1936 in Darmstadt) is a German pianist and jazz educator. Life and works Haider performed as an amateur musician in the region Stuttgart between 1954 and 1959 and studied at Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich from 1960 to 1965. In this time, he played also in the quintet of Fritz Münzer (''Live in HR 1962'', ''Jazz for young people''). From 1965 to 1968, he worked as a pianist and leader of a trio in jazz club Domicile in Munich and performed there with many European and American jazz musician such as Benny Bailey, Duško Gojković, Nathan Davis, Booker Ervin, Klaus Doldinger, Hans Koller, Leo Wright, Attila Zoller, George Mraz, Peter Trunk, Philly Joe Jones, Joe Nay, Kurt Bong, Klaus Weiss and Pierre Favre. Pierre Favre (musician)
Pierre Favre (born 2 June 1937) is a Swiss jazz drummer and percussionist born in Le Locle, Switzerland. 1964 Pierre Favre joins Paiste: At the 1964 Paiste drummer meeting in Frankfurt, Pierre met the Paiste brothers who invited him to visit their factory in Nottwil. Since Pierre has always been interested in cymbals, he was most enthusiastic about accepting their invitation. The Paiste brothers were so impressed with his keen interest and attentive attitude, they offered him a position on their staff to take care of the most important task: cymbal development, quality control and to establish an education/drummer service dept. Pierre left Paiste as a full time employee in 1970 and was replaced by Fredy Studer. He recorded the album ''Singing Drums'' (ECM, 1984) with Paul Motian and Nana Vasconcelos. Don Menza
Don Menza (born April 22, 1936) is an American jazz saxophonist. Career Menza was born in Buffalo, New York. After serving in the U.S. Army, he was part of the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra from 1960 to 1962 and then briefly worked for Stan Kenton. From 1964 to 1968 he lived in Germany. Back in the U.S., he became a member of the Buddy Rich band in 1968 and recorded a well-known solo with that band on "Channel One Suite". In the 1970s he was a member of ''The Tonight Show'' Band. He later lived in California and played with Elvin Jones and Louie Bellson. In 2005 Menza was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. Andy Scherrer (10 October 1946 – 26 November 2019) was a Swiss musician who played piano and saxophone. Biography Scherrer was born in 1946 in Brunnadern. At the age of 15, Scherrer taught himself how to play saxophone. He was educated at the City of Basel Music Academy, and taught at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern from 1975 to 2011. He was a member of the Vienna Art Orchestra and The George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band. In addition to the saxophone, he also played piano. Dexter Gordon (February 27, 1923 – April 25, 1990) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and actor. He was among the most influential early bebop musicians, which included other greats such as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Bud Powell.
