Joe Exter
Joe Exter (born December 19, 1978) is a retired American ice hockey goaltender. He is famous for playing two seasons with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers several months after being in a coma due to an on-ice collision. Career Exter started his career with the Erie Otters, where he split time with former Edmonton Oilers draft pick Patrick Dovigi and former Los Angeles Kings draft pick Steve Valiquette. He played eleven games, going 0-4-0 with a 4.13 GAA. After a year with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL where he shared duties with two other goalies, Exter moved on to Merrimack College of Hockey East. Exter started more than twenty-five games in each of his three seasons with Merrimack College, compiling a 31-47-8 record. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the '' goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Steve Valiquette
Stephen Valiquette (born August 20, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Valiquette played 46 games in the National Hockey League, nearly all for the New York Rangers, before finishing his playing career in Europe. Valiquette is currently employed as a studio analyst for MSG Network covering the Rangers. Professional career While playing junior hockey for the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Valiquette was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft in the eighth round. Playing two more seasons in the OHL with the Wolves and the Erie Otters, Valiquette never actually played for the Kings organization, and in 1998, now a free agent, signed with the New York Islanders. Ben Eaves
Benjamin Coel Eaves (born March 27, 1982) is an American former professional ice hockey center. He is currently the strength and conditioning coach for the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL) - where his father and former National Hockey League (NHL) player Mike Eaves is head coach. His brother Patrick played over 600 games in the NHL. Playing career Eaves went to high school at Shattuck-St. Mary's school in Faribault, Minnesota. Andy Chiodo
Andy Chiodo (born April 25, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Chiodo played eight games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2003–04 NHL season, for whom he is presently a goaltending coach. Playing career Chiodo was originally selected by the New York Islanders in the sixth round (166th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. The Islanders were unable to sign him, and he was made draft-eligible again after the 2002–03 NHL season. Dany Sabourin
Dany Sabourin (born September 2, 1980) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former goaltender. Playing career Drafted in the fourth round, 108th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, he played four games with Calgary before moving to the Pittsburgh Penguins. 2004–05 NHL Lockout
The 2004–05 NHL lockout was a labor lockout that resulted in the cancellation of the National Hockey League (NHL) season, which would have been its 88th season of play. The main dispute was the league's desire to implement a salary cap to limit expenditure on player salaries, which was opposed by the NHL Players Association (NHLPA), the players' labor union, who proposed an alternative system of revenue sharing. Attempts at collective bargaining before the season began were unsuccessful. Greg Malone (ice Hockey)
William Gregory Malone (born March 8, 1956) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre and former scout for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Phoenix Coyotes, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Career Malone was a scoring star in Fredericton, New Brunswick before moving on to the Oshawa Generals of the OHA. After recording consecutive 30-goal seasons, the Pittsburgh Penguins selected him in the second round, 19th overall in the 1976 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to spend the majority of his career with the Penguins followed by three productive years with the Hartford Whalers. Patrick Campbell Eaves (born May 1, 1984) is a Canadian-born American former professional ice hockey forward.
