Thomas Joseph Errity (born 3 November 1969) is an Irish retired hurler who played for club side Birr and at inter-county level with the Offaly senior hurling team. Birr GAA
Birr GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Birr in County Offaly, Ireland. The club is almost exclusively concerned with the game hurling and is one of the most successful hurling clubs in the country. While a number of teams represented Birr in the 1880s and 1890s, the current club was formally founded in 1909. St Brendan's Park, located on the south side of the town on Railway Road, is the home ground of the club. Offaly Senior Hurling Championship
The Offaly Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Molloy Environmental Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Offaly GAA clubs. The Offaly County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1896. Shinrone are the title holders (2022) defeating Kilcormac–Killoughey in the Final. History The title has been won at least once by 12 different teams. The all-time record-holders are Coolderry, who have won a total of 31 titles. Since the beginning, the championship has been dominated by Coolderry, Birr, Drumcullen and St Rynagh's. They have won a combined total of 90 of the 124 championship titles. Brian Feeney (hurler)
Brian Feeney (born 1970) is an Irish former hurler who played as a centre-back for the Galway senior team. An All-Ireland-winning captain in the under-21 grade, Feeney made his first appearance for the senior team during the 1991-92 National League and became a regular member of the team over much of the next decade. During that time he won one National Hurling League winners' medal. At club level Feeney is a three-time All-Ireland medalist with Athenry. Gary Hanniffy
Gary Hanniffy (born 4 April 1977) is an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Offaly senior hurling team. Hanniffy made his first appearance for the team during the 1997 National League and subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement prior to the 2008 championship. During that time he won one All-Ireland medal and one National Hurling League (Division 2) medal. Hanniffy was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Hanniffy is a four-time All-Ireland medalist with Birr. In addition to this he has also won six Leinster medals and eleven county club championship medals. Hanniffy's father, Declan and his brothers, Darren and Rory, also played hurling with Offaly. 1998 Railway Cup Hurling Championship
The 1998 Railway Cup Hurling Championship was the 70th staging of the Railway Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1927. The cup began on 8 November 1998 and ended on 22 November 1998. Munster were the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Leinster in the semi-final. On 22 November 1998, Leinster won the cup after a 0-16 to 2–09 defeat of Connacht in the final at Nowlan Park. This was their 21st Railway Cup title overall and their first title since 1993. Railway Cup
The GAA Interprovincial Championship ( ga, An Corn Idir-Chúigeach) or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling). The first Railway Cup competitions (the name is due to the donation of the trophy by Irish Rail) were held in 1927, with Munster winning the first football title and Leinster winning the first hurling title. The 1987 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 57th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The 1986 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 56th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 7 May 1986 and ended on 7 September 1986. Cork entered the championship as the defending champions. The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship of 1995 (known for the first time for sponsorship reasons as the Guinness Hurling Championship 1995) was the 109th staging of Ireland's premier hurling knock-out competition.
