Joseph Brannon Dooley
Joseph Brannon Dooley (December 13, 1889 – January 19, 1967) was a United States federal judge, United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Education and career Born in San Angelo, Texas, San Angelo, Texas, Dooley received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Texas School of Law in 1911. He was in private practice in Amarillo, Texas, Amarillo, Texas from 1911 to 1947, serving as President of the State Bar of Texas from 1944 to 1945. Federal judicial service On January 8, 1947, Dooley was nominated by President Harry S. Truman to a seat on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas vacated by Judge James Clifton Wilson. Dooley was confirmed by the United States Senate on July 8, 1947, and received his commission on July 9, 1947. He served as Chief Judge in 1959, and assumed senior status on October 1, 1966. Joseph Gerard Dooley III (born January 29, 1965) is the former head College basketball, men's basketball coach of the East Carolina University East Carolina Pirates men's basketball, Pirates, having previously served as head coach from 1995 to 1999 and 2018-2022. Dooley was an assistant on the Kansas Jayhawks 2007–08 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team, 2007–08 NCAA national championship team and previously served as head coach at Florida Gulf Coast University. Dooley is a 1988 graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he completed his bachelor's degree in speech communications. A four-year letter winner in basketball at George Washington, he started his last two seasons and was elected a team captain as a senior. A native of West Orange, New Jersey, Dooley was a prep player at Saint Benedict's Preparatory School, St. Benedicts High School in New Jersey where he scored 1,140 career points. Joe Dooley (Seir Kieran Hurler)
Joe Dooley (born 13 November 1963) is an Irish former hurler and manager. Dooley enjoyed a successful playing career at club level with Seir Kieran and is the only Offaly player ever to have won three All-Ireland titles. After a spell as player-manager with Seir Kieran, Dooley worked as manager with Tullamore, Toomevara and Offaly. He managed the Irish Senior International Shinty team for three years against Scotland and has managed the Linster Senior Hurling team for the period 2012 to 2014. Born in Clareen, County Offaly, Dooley was the eldest of a family of five boys and four girl and was born into a family that was steeped in hurling history. His paternal and maternal granduncles and his grandfather played for Offaly in the junior All-Ireland finals of 1915, 1923 and 1929.
