Joe Daley (golfer)
Joe Daley (born October 30, 1960) is an American professional golfer formerly of the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour. He now plays on the PGA Tour Champions. On 1 July 2012, Daley won the Senior Players Championship for his first major victory on the Champions Tour. Professional career Daley was born in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania, attended and played golf at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School before walking on to the golf team at Old Dominion University. He did not turn pro until 1992 at the age of 32, having been a wholesale credit manager since graduating from college. Daley played on the Nationwide Tour in 1997 and 1999 to 2009. He earned his PGA Tour card in 1996 and 1998 and played in 60 events on the major tour. His best finish was a tie for sixth at the 1996 B.C. Open. Senior PGA Championship
The Senior PGA Championship, established in 1937, is the oldest of the five major championships in men's senior golf. It is administered by the Professional Golfers' Association of America and is recognized as a major championship by both PGA Tour Champions and the European Senior Tour. It was formerly an unofficial money event on the European Senior Tour, but since 2007 has been an official money event. Winners gain entry into the next PGA Championship. The winners prior to 1980, the first season of the senior tour, are not considered major champions of this event by the PGA Tour Champions. The Tradition
The Tradition (known as the Regions Tradition for sponsorship reasons) is an event on the PGA Tour Champions. First staged in 1989, the PGA Tour recognizes the event as one of the five senior major golf championships. Unlike the U.S. Senior Open, Senior PGA Championship and Senior Open Championship, it is not recognized as a major by the European Senior Tour, and is not part of that tour's official schedule. It is the only senior major where the winner does not earn an exemption into a PGA Tour or European Tour event. Constellation Senior Players Championship
The Senior Players Championship, stylised by the PGA Tour as The SENIOR PLAYERS Championship, is one of the five major championships on golf's PGA Tour Champions. The inaugural event was played in 1983 and the age minimum is 50, the standard for men's senior professional golf tournaments. The winner gains entry into the following season's Players Championship on the PGA Tour. For sponsorship reasons, from 2023, the tournament will be titled as the Kaulig Companies Championship. Unlike the U.S. Senior Open, the Senior PGA Championship, and the Senior Open Championship, it is not recognized as a major by the European Senior Tour, and is not part of that tour's schedule. The 2012 Champions Tour was the 33rd season for the golf tour now known as PGA Tour Champions since it officially began in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour. The season consisted of 24 official money events with purses totaling $$46,700,000, including five majors. Bernhard Langer topped the end-of-season money list, winning $2,140,296. Jerry Smith (golfer)
Jerry Smith (born April 23, 1964) is an American professional golfer. He has played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Smith was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He played college golf at Baylor University. He turned professional in 1987. Smith played on the Asian Tour for seven years, winning the 1998 Guam Open. Smith played on the Nationwide Tour in 1999, 2003, and 2005. His best finishes were a pair of T-2 in 2005 at the Chattanooga Classic, which he lost in a playoff, and the Permian Basin Charity Golf Classic. Smith played the PGA Tour from 2000 to 2002 and 2006 to 2007. His best finish was a T-3 at the 2001 National Car Rental Golf Classic Disney. Shane Bertsch
Shane Thomas Bertsch (born March 30, 1970) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour. Bertsch was born in Denver, Colorado. He turned professional in 1994. Bertsch has won twice on the Nationwide Tour, once in 2000 and once in 2005. His best PGA Tour finish was a tie for fifth at the 1996 Greater Vancouver Open. Bertsch was once a top-tier tennis player, but gave up the game for good after losing to future world number-one Andre Agassi in 1994. Bertsch barely missed retaining full tour privileges for 2009, finished 126th on the money list. He secured a tour card for 2010 by finishing 15th in qualifying school. Bobby Wadkins
Robert Edwin Wadkins (born July 26, 1951) is an American professional golfer. His older brother, Lanny, won 21 times on the PGA Tour, including the 1977 PGA Championship, and is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. Wadkins was born in Richmond, Virginia. Between Bobby and Lanny, they held the Richmond, Virginia city junior title for six consecutive years – two by Bobby and four by Lanny. After attending the University of Houston for one year, Wadkins earned All-American honors in 1972–73 at East Tennessee State University. Wadkins turned pro in 1973. He never won on the PGA Tour despite six runner-up finishes in 715 events, but he did win on the European Tour and the Japan Golf Tour.
