Joe Alexander (basketball)
Joseph Anthony Alexander (; born December 26, 1986) is a Taiwan-born American-Israeli professional basketball player who last played for Hapoel Jerusalem of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Alexander, who at plays both forward positions, was selected for the 2007 All-Big East squad during his collegiate career with West Virginia and was an All-American Honorable Mention. He was selected eighth overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He is the first-ever Taiwanese-born NBA player. Early life and education Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Alexander moved to Silver Spring, Maryland, when he was two. When he was eight, his family relocated to China when his father got a job working for Nestlé. His maternal grandfather was Jewish, which made him eligible for Israeli citizenship while playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv. The power forward (PF), also known as the four, is one of the five traditional Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. The Busan KCC Egis () is a professional basketball club based in Busan, South Korea. The team competes in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) and has established a substantial fanbase in South Korea. Founded in 1997, the team was initially based in Daejeon and was later relocated to Jeonju and Busan, respectively. The Israeli Basketball State Cup () is the second most important professional basketball competition in Israel, after the Israeli Super League. It is the national federation cup of Israel. The tournament began in the 1955–56 season, and is run by the Israel Basketball Association.
