Jodi (2001 Film)
''Jodi'' () is a 2001 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film directed by Kishore Sarja, starring Shiva Rajkumar, Jaggesh and Poonam Singar with Mukhyamantri Chandru, Doddanna and Sadhu Kokila portraying supporting roles. The film's soundtrack was composed by S. A. Rajkumar. It was released on 7 December 2001. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film '' Darling Darling'' (2000) and was a box office failure. Plot Cast Production When Rockline Venkatesh decided to remake Malayalam film '' Darling Darling'' in Kannada, he originally chose Dinesh Babu to direct the film. Babu who initially agreed to direct later pulled out from the venture after he got an offer from Usha Kiran Movies. This led Venkatesh to file a complaint against Babu at Kannada Producers Association which initially banned him but was later revoked after Babu agreed to pay penalty. Kishore Sarja
Kishore Sarja (died 27 June 2009) was an Indian film director who worked in Kannada-language films. Career Kishore Sarja started his career as an assistant director before making his directorial debut with ''Alimayya'' (1993) starring his brother Arjun Sarja, which was a remake of the 1987 Tamil film ''Kalyana Kacheri'' starring Arjun. He is known for directing the film '' Thutta Mutta'' (1998) starring Ramesh Aravind, which was commercially successful and his only film that was not a remake. He also directed other films including ''Jodi'' (2001) and ''Baava Baamaida'' (2001), both starring Shiva Rajkumar. He introduced his nephew, Chiranjeevi Sarja with the film ''Vayuputra'' (2009), which was produced by Arjun Sarja. Personal life Sarja's father, Shakti Prasad, was an actor in Kannada cinema while his brother Arjun Sarja is a filmmaker and actor. Kishore died on 26 June 2009. Ramesh Bhat
Ramesh Bhat is a multiple-award–winning Indian actor. He has worked predominantly in Kannada films and television serials. Early life Ramesh Bhat was born in Kundapur. He completed his primary education at Manki and portrayed national leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru in school day functions. He moved to Bangalore when his father, Rathnakar Rao, migrated there. He later studied at Model High School in Chamarajapet, Bangalore and went on to complete his diploma in mechanical engineering from SJ Polytechnic in Bangalore. Hemanth Subramanya known by his stage name as Hemanth, is a playback singer in Kannada cinema. Early life Hemanth was born in a family of musicians at Bangalore, India.
