Jocky Wilson Cup
The Jocky Wilson Cup (officially the PartyPoker.com Jocky Wilson Cup for sponsorship) was a professional darts team tournament that took place at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, on 5 December 2009. This one-off tournament, which was named after Jocky Wilson, a two-time world darts champion, was the last of the eight non-ranking Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events of the 2009 season. The tournament was contested by two nations of two players each. The winning nation was the first country to earn four points over a five-match series – four singles fixtures and one doubles game. Phil Taylor and James Wade of England won the competition and whitewashed their opponents Gary Anderson and Robert Thornton of Scotland 6–0. Jocky Scott
John Alexander Scott (born 14 January 1948) is a Scottish football coach and former player. During his playing career he played for Dundee, Aberdeen, Seattle Sounders and Scotland. An extensive management career followed with spells at Aberdeen, Dundee (three separate spells), Arbroath, Dunfermline Athletic, Notts County, Raith Rovers and Stirling Albion. He also had coaching jobs at other various clubs in both Scotland and England. Club career Scott played club football for Dundee and Aberdeen, winning the Scottish League Cup with both clubs. He memorably scored a hat-trick when Aberdeen beat Rangers 5–1 in the competition's semi-final in October 1976. He was capped twice for the Scotland national team in 1971. Jocky Wilson
John Thomas "Jocky" Wilson (22 March 1950 – 24 March 2012) was a Scottish professional darts player. After turning professional in 1979, he quickly rose to the top of the game, winning the World Professional Darts Championship in 1982, then again in 1989. Wilson competed in all major darts tournaments of the era and won the British Professional Championship a record four times between 1981 and 1988. A contemporary and rival of Eric Bristow, Bob Anderson and John Lowe, Wilson's ungainly appearance and rough-hewn lifestyle belied his prowess in the sport. He was dogged by health problems, however, and suddenly retired from the game in December 1995. James "Jocky" Petrie is a Scottish professional chef, best known for his work alongside chef Heston Blumenthal as Head of Creative Development of the Experimental Kitchen at The Fat Duck, and as Group Executive Development Chef for Gordon Ramsay. Jocky Robertson
Jocky Robertson (21 May 1926 – 2004) was a Scottish footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Armadale Thistle, Third Lanark and Berwick Rangers despite being of notably short height. Early life Jocky Robertson was born in Edinburgh on 21 May 1926. He grew up on a council estate in the Prestonfield area of the city, and supported Heart of Midlothian. He sustained a serious injury to his hands while working in a cardboard box factory, but recovered sufficiently to resume playing as a goalkeeper. Playing career Robertson played in junior football for Armadale Thistle and represented the Scotland Junior international team. He joined Third Lanark in 1951 and after making his senior debut against Airdrieonians on 2 December 1951 went on to be their first-choice goalkeeper for the next twelve years. John 'Jocky' Dempster (born 8 October 1948) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a right winger, mainly for Queen of the South and also St Mirren and Clyde. Career Dempster played with junior outfit Muirkirk before signing for Queen of the South at the start of the 1969–70 season. Dempster is best known for his time Queens in Dumfries. The 1970s goalscoring winger and penalty taker found the net 98 times during 355 first-team matches for the ''Doonhamers'' and is the sixth highest goalscorer in the club's history. Jocky Petrie (footballer)
John "Jocky" Petrie (21 June 1867 – 13 July 1932) was a Scottish footballer who played for Arbroath as a forward. He holds the record for the most goals ever scored in a senior British football game with 13 goals. Career Petrie signed for Arbroath from local club Strathmore. On 12 September 1885, Petrie, at the age of 18, scored 13 times for Arbroath in a record 36–0 win over Bon Accord. In 1891, Petrie signed for Distillery, playing in the Irish League for a season, before returning to Arbroath. After retiring from football, Petrie later held roles as a kitman, trainer and groundsman for Arbroath until his retirement in 1920, where his career was commemorated with a benefit match against rivals Forfar Athletic, held on his behalf.
