Joseph Oliver "Jocko" Cunningham (born October 30, 1950) is a former racing driver who competed in the SCCA/ECAR Formula Atlantic series from 1986 to 1990. He finished second in the championship in 1988 and won the championship in 1989. Among his 7 race victories was the series' first oval race on the Milwaukee Mile in 1988. Formula Atlantic is a specification of open-wheel racing car developed in the 1970s. It was used in professional racing through the IMSA Atlantic Championship until 2009 and is currently primarily used in amateur racing through Sports Car Club of America Formula Atlantic. Milwaukee Mile
The Milwaukee Mile is a oval race track in the central United States, located on the grounds of the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, Wisconsin, a suburb west of Milwaukee. Its grandstand and bleachers seats approximately 37,000 spectators. Opened in 1903 as a dirt track, it was paved in 1954. In addition to the oval, there is a road circuit located in the infield. As the oldest operating motor speedway in the world, the Milwaukee Mile has hosted at least one auto race every year from 1903 to 2025 (except during U.S. involvement in World War II). The Atlantic Championship Series is an American open-wheel racing series with races throughout North America. It has previously been called Champ Car Atlantics, Toyota Atlantics (after its then engine supplier for sponsorship reasons), or just Atlantics. The series began in 1974 as a professional version of the Sports Car Club of America's amateur Formula Atlantic classification and typically served as a stepping stone to the original Indy Lights series under Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART). After that series was ended in 2002, the Atlantic series became the official developmental series of CART successor Champ Car World Series until the merger of Champ Car with IndyCar in 2008. Steve Shelton
Steve Shelton (born May 16, 1949) is an American former racing driver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He raced in the SCCA/ECAR Formula Atlantic Championship from 1985 to 1990. He won in his first start which was that particular incarnation of the Atlantic series' first race. He captured five race wins and won the 1988 championship. Brian Till
Brian Till (born March 26, 1960, in Houston, Texas), is a racecar driver who formerly competed in the CART Championship Car series. He raced in the 1992–1995 seasons with 20 career starts. Racing career Till had success early being named Rookie of the Year of the Houston Region of the SCCA in 1986. Not long after, he won the 1990 Atlantic Championship with race engineer, Gerald Tyler. In 1991, he joined the Indy Lights series, again with Tyler and won the race at Mid-Ohio. In CART he ran 20 races with Tyler, including the 1994 Indianapolis 500, where he finished 12th. Till had three top-ten finishes in CART competition. Till drove full-time in the Trans-Am Series in 1995 and finished 9th in points.
