"The Jock Jam" (released as a single by the name "ESPN Presents the Jock Jam") is a mash-up song from the compilation album '' Jock Jams, Volume 3''. The single was released in late September 1997 on Tommy Boy Records. It consists of samples of songs and phrases from popular dance, eurodance and rap recordings, either ''sport-themed'' or not, that were released on previous volumes of the Jock Jams compilation series. It appeared on Jock Jams volume 3, even though most of the songs contained in this mix were released on the two previous volumes. Those are mixed in a three-minute megamix fashion, mixed and produced by Rich "DJ Riddler" Pangilinan and Bobby Dedic. This song received significant radio airplay when it was released, notably in United States and Canada, which is a rare feat for a dance mash-up. Reel 2 Real was an American hip house musical project that had seven top 10 hits on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the 1990s. Biography The project's core member was producer and DJ Erick Morillo from New York City, who spent a portion of his childhood living in Colombia and also in Union City, New Jersey. Faith No More is an American Rock music, rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on the current name in July 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Technotronic was a Belgian electronic music project formed in 1987 by Jo Bogaert, who originally gained popularity in Europe as a solo artist with various new beat projects, including Acts of Madmen and Nux Nemo.
