Joaquín Valerio
Joaquín Enrique Valerio Olivera (born 12 January 1973) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Badalona, Barcelona, Catalonia, Valerio began his senior career with Real Madrid Castilla, going on to represent Hércules CF – with whom he won the Segunda División title in 1996– and Albacete Balompié. From 1997 to 2001 he was a part of Real Betis, playing 12 La Liga games (his first being on 1 November 1997 in a 2–3 home loss against Atlético Madrid, coming on as a substitute for Toni Prats who had been sent off in the 20th minute); the 2000–01 season was spent in the second division, as both Betis and Sevilla FC were promoted. Badalona (, , , ) is a municipality in Barcelonès county, in Catalonia (Spain). It is located to the north east of Barcelona, on the left bank of the Besòs River and on the Mediterranean Sea, in the Barcelona metropolitan area. The 2006–07 Segunda División season (known this season as the Sports league, Liga BBVA for sponsorship reasons) was the 76th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 27 August 2006, and the season ended on 17 June 2007. Segunda División B (English: second division B) was the third tier of the Spanish football league system containing 102 teams divided into five groups, until it was replaced by the new structure in 2021. It was administered by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. It was below the top two professional leagues, the ''Primera División'' (also known as La Liga) and the ''Segunda División'', and above the ''Tercera División''. In sports, an ejection (also known as dismissal, sending-off, disqualification, or early shower) is the removal of a participant from a contest due to a violation of the sport's rules. Antonio 'Toni' Prats Cervera (born 9 September 1971) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. In a career spent mainly with Betis, he appeared in 338 La Liga matches over 12 seasons (467 across both major levels), winning one Copa del Rey with the club. Club career Prats was born in Capdepera, Majorca. After emerging through his hometown RCD Mallorca's youth system (appearing in one La Liga match in the 1991–92 season, a 1–2 home loss against Athletic Bilbao) and playing one year with RC Celta de Vigo, he finally settled at Seville's Real Betis, where he remained nine years. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
