Joana Ortega
Joana Ortega i Alemany (born 13 November 1959 in Barcelona) was the List of Vice Presidents of Catalonia, vice president of the government of the Generalitat de Catalunya and List of Counsellors of Governance and Public Administration of Catalonia, Counsellor of Government and Institutional Relations from 2010 until 2015. She has also been a deputy at the Parliament of Catalonia from 2006 to 2015. She was the first woman who has occupied the seat of vice president. She has a degree in psychology from Barcelona's Abat Oliba CEU University (UAO CEU) Since 2006, Ortega has been a member of Parliament, being elected chairwoman of the Committee on the Catalan Corporation for Audiovisual Media (CCMA), the government-owned radio and TV holding. Eixample
The Eixample (, ) is a district of Barcelona between the old city (Ciutat Vella) and what were once surrounding small towns (Sants, Gràcia, Sant Andreu, etc.), constructed in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Its population was 262,000 at the last census (2005). Architecture and design The Eixample is characterized by long straight streets, a strict grid pattern crossed by wide avenues, and square blocks with chamfer#architecture, chamfered corners (named ''illes'' in Catalan, ''manzanas'' in Spanish). This was a visionary, pioneering design by Ildefons Cerdà, who considered traffic and transport along with sunlight and ventilation in coming up with his characteristic octagonal blocks, where the streets broaden at every intersection making for greater visibility, better ventilation and (today) some short-term parking areas. The Court of Auditors () is the supreme governmental accounting body of Spain responsible of the comptrolling of the public accounts and the auditing of the accountancy of the political parties, in accordance with the Spanish Constitution of 1978, Constitution and its Organic Law (Spain), Organic Act. The Court of Auditors is composed by the President and 12 counsellors. The Counsellors are appointed by the Cortes Generales, six of them by the Congress of Deputies, Congress and the other six by the Senate of Spain, Senate. High Court Of Justice Of Catalonia
The High Court of Justice of Catalonia () is the highest body and last judicial instance of the Spanish judiciary in Catalonia. Unlike the Parliament of Catalonia (legislative branch) or the Executive Council of Catalonia (executive branch), the TSJC is not a part of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the autonomous system of self-government of the community, although the Catalan government has some powers over it, especially in material resources. The TSJC regulates the functions of the judges and looks over the different provincial courts. The TSJC is the final appellate court in Catalan territory, notwithstanding the right of a citizen to appeal to the Spanish Supreme Court and/or the European Court of Justice.
