Joan Olivé
Joan Olivé Márquez (born 22 November 1984 in Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain) is a former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He has competed in the 125cc, 250cc, Moto2 and Moto3 World championships since he started to race professionally in the 2001 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season The 2001 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 53rd F.I.M. 2009 British Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2009 British motorcycle Grand Prix was the tenth round of the 2009 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 24–26 July 2009 at Donington Park. It was to be the final motorcycle Grand Prix at Donington, with the race moving to Silverstone Circuit, Silverstone for the 2010 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, 2010 season. MotoGP race report This race was most notable for the wet-weather conditions the race took place in, Andrea Dovizioso's shock win and Colin Edwards' and Randy de Puniet's shock podiums. Aspar Team
Aspar Team (formerly Ángel Nieto Team) is a Grand Prix motorcycle racing team from Spain, competing in the Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE World Championships. History The team was created by former world champion Jorge Martínez in 1992, when he was still riding a Honda RS125R. For 1993 Martínez expanded his operations into the 250cc class debuting with Juan Borja. For the next two seasons the Aspar team switched to Yamaha TZ125 bikes leaving the 250cc division. In 1996 Aspar started an 18-year relationship with Aprilia; in those years he fielded riders like Fonsi Nieto and Arnaud Vincent before entering the 250cc class again, in 2000 with Alex Debón. FTR Moto Ltd was a British motorcycle parts and frame manufacturer. The name was an acronym for ''Fabrication Techniques Racing Motorcycles''. History The company was founded in 1994 as ''Fabrication Techniques'' by Steve Bones and in 1995 helped Kenny Roberts and TWR to build the chassis for their Modenas KR3 (later ''Proton KR3'') motorcycle. The firm then supplied several teams in Grand Prix motorcycle racing and Superbike World Championship and in 2001 contributed to the Petronas FP1 chassis. The 2010 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 62nd Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, F.I.M. Road racing, Road Racing World Championship season. The 2009 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 61st F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Preseason Cost-cutting measures As announced during 2008, MotoGP class switched to a single-tyre manufacturer ending a previous Tyre war between Dunlop, Bridgestone, and Michelin that started in the 2002 season (though Dunlop left as a tyre manufacturer in 2007). The move was made to try to improve safety by reducing cornering speeds, and in a marginal way for cost reasons; the winner was decided by bid. The 2007 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 59th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary The 2007 season was significant as it introduced a new regulation which specifies that competitors in the MotoGP class were allowed use up to 800cc motorcycles; between 2002 and 2006, competitors had been allowed to use 990 cc motorcycles. While the 800cc motorcycles had less power than their 990cc counterparts, their ability to brake later and carry more speed through turns due to their lighter weight (which actually increased their power to weight ratio) allowed them to break lap records in pre-season testing.
